I'm on the list & have been for about a year. Who knows who gets selected. But I'll keep my fingers crossed! For now I'll buy the MM and see where things go from there.

I think its for beta testers, too much like work for me

MetalMan 01.10.2007 11:10 PM

Yeah, it is a lot of work. Besides testing out numerous configurations, it also entails a detailed (long) report of your testing.

Bah...Free controller? I'm in...

Typing and essay writing are not my strong points, If you look at some of my posts you will see that, not as bad as NBC but you get the point

...so to get some grasp of this there is NO 100% ABSOLUTE fix for 'The Quirk'?

Wrong thread, but Sky seems to think they have no problem

I think he means the MM Quirk.. not the Quark, lol

No, there is not a 100% fix for any of the "quirks" discussed.

CC doesn't believe my quirk is more than an isolated case... basicly it's me and nobody else has the problem.

BrianG 01.18.2007 01:10 PM

I don't know about that GD; there have been quite a few people who have experienced one form of the quirk or another in this thread alone. But they may simply less concerned with it as it makes less difference in casual usage (bashing).

glassdoctor 01.20.2007 12:49 AM

BG, I know there is a couple different glitches in the MM.... but does CC see it that way?

The quirk that I have complained about when racing is different and much harder to "see" and repeat. I don't think CC has ever seen what I have seen.

At least as for "my" glitch, CC seems to be taking the position that it doesn't exist because only myself and my racing buggy have reported it.

I guess two drivers, running two different brands high end radios, 5 MM systems in 5 different vehicles on three different tracks is not enough to demonstrate there is a problem.

Again... this "problem" is subtle and many racers may not be bothered by it.

As with all companies; It's hard to convince them if they think they are producing 'the bomb'.. If 20,000 setups are sold, and 19,980 are raving about it, and the other 20 being very critical and notice flaws; the 20 critical people are wrong, and the other 19,980 are right..... (it's the easiest way out for cc, right?) frustrating for the 20 people.. but who cares, it's only .001 percent.. I had the same issues with that arrogant ass of schulze, and nova rc products.. I know how you feel glass... Too bad cc doesn't..

Bomb-Proof 01.20.2007 10:37 AM

Well, at least they arent schulze. I am sure I can make mine do the same, I have never found a controller I couldnt get to do it. The Hacker's were the worst about it, they did it after going to nuetral and getting back in throttle...they hit full brake first.

glassdoctor 01.20.2007 12:28 PM

Hey guys... just for kicks try something that demondtrates what I think is happening in "my" glitch:

You can try it on the ground or held in the air. Simply apply very slowly a very small amount of throttle until the wheels first move.... and let off. Do this over and over. What you see happen is that very often the car/tires will kick over backwards just a little before moving forward.

As some have mentioned, under severe cases this can kick your car backwards a couple feet.

But in typical MM running in 1/10 car 6 cells, etc... you don't notice this from a dead stop. It's always been smooth to me, but you can see that it kicks in reverse for a micro-second before correcting itself.

So, what I think happens is that once in a while it does this... fires backwards once.... while the car is moving. The effect is that you get a very brief 100% full lock brake (cause the tires kick over backwards for like .1 seconds) which is not good if you are racing a 2wd car through a sweeper for example. It immediately will point you sideways... like you just got bump-drafted at Daytona.

Now, the Mambamax is not "supoosed" to be able to do this... it's impossible according to CC. But it happens. The problem is you can't predict when it will happen or repeat it on command, so CC hasn't been able to duplicate this and see it for themselves. And even if they did get it to happen, they may not even notice if they are just running around a parking lot... you might have to be racing to easily see "it".

Maybe I've made this more clear to some of you now....
