what batterys are you going to be using?

jordan... 07.15.2008 11:16 PM

I'm going to be running 2 3s packs in series for 6s. Definately 5000mah and probably 25c. I'm thinking along the lines of Flightpower or Neuenergy etc. at the moment. I've found a place to get Neu 3s 5000mah 25c packs for $130 each, pretty good deal i think.

drkros3 07.16.2008 12:55 AM

wow that thing is going to be rip lol. cant wait for a vid.

oh and seeing this thread has got me thinking about maybe getting a neu motor. cause im running a lot less kv then you are on 6 cells and its the limit of the motor. (or i dont really want ot push it any more)

jordan... 07.16.2008 01:16 AM

i see what you mean, 6s on this motor means roughly 50,000rpm. Which i think is comfortably under the 60,000rpm limit of the Neu motors. Reason i chose this kv is so i could get the max performance out of 6s, because i don't want to be spending big $$ on heaps of lipos and HV ESC's.

drkros3 07.16.2008 01:21 AM

haha yah thats another reason. i can only go up to 80 amps and 6 cells lol. and i think i might be at the limit of my gearing. cause i know if i gear it for any faster it well go over 80amps. but at least the esc well shut down befor it goes over 80

TDC57 07.17.2008 03:08 AM

So when is "D" day Jordan (??)

jayjay283 07.17.2008 04:59 AM

lol Jordan, is that a Neu or a 8 cell maglite strapped on that badboy !! Sweeeet

jordan... 07.17.2008 05:30 AM

I'm assuming 'D' day stands for 'Drive' day  Hopefully soon, i e-mailed Mike about some custom length centre shafts, so hopefully they won't be too far away. Can't wait to see how those v2 MMM's perform as well...

@jayjay: ok you got me... so thats why my torch wouldn't switch on, and my car would only light up

mtbnjim 07.18.2008 03:32 PM

this deserves a patent... great job!

TDC57 07.20.2008 04:10 AM

Jordan,
Just use the 3905 ones until you get your custom ones made..

Yes "D" stand for Drive day.. I know you would know..

Have a great one Sir...

Shaun.

jordan... 07.24.2008 07:19 AM

I never had a 3905. The only 'stock' emaxx i've owned is the very first version with the narrow suspension

Well, i have talked to Mike and it should be around 2 weeks until i get the custom bones. I also just ordered a DX3R, MMM v2 (backorder) and a couple of pinions.

D-day is approaching...

George16 07.24.2008 07:42 AM

What's the length of the dogbones you need?

jordan... 07.24.2008 08:50 PM

pin to pin, the rear is 168mm and the front is 43mm
