I hope one of them is mine.

I received an email that a package was shipped to me by CC on Agust 11, 2008. However, I still have to received it.

This was the information I have:
Quote:

Label/Receipt Number: 9101 8052 1390 7795 0730 94
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 11, 2008 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item.
I finally bit the bullet and called CC last Friday midnight (Japan Time, Friday 10:00 am Kansas time) and talked to Christie regarding my replacement MMM because I did not receive a reply when I pm'ed you about it. Christie told me that there is a little problem and she hoped that CC will continue shipping them again by Tuesday. She tried tracking and looking into your books and can't even tell me if I was on the list of people who will be receiving one.

17 1/2 years in the Navy made me a very patient person but if I have to spend more money on international phone calls (Japan to U.S.) because you can't even reply my pm, then this is bullshit.

All I want to know is, was there a MMM V2 shipped to me? If so, when and what type of shipping.

Here's my mailing address:

JOSELITO LUCAS
PSC 475 BOX 1537
FPO AP 96350-1537

Here are my phone numbers if you want to talk to me:
01181-46-896-4035 (home)

01181-46-816-5683 (office)

Edit - It's 6:30 Thursday morning here so you can call me if you have time.

Thanks.

Shipped on the 11th. No problem as far as I can tell in the computer, it actually went to the post office on the 11th. Priority mail.

Edit: Just talked with our shipping dept -- this is always a problem using US Mail apparently, they often don't update their own systems. It did ship on Aug 11th, and I'm having our shipping dept. start a Post office track on this end.

This is for two reasons -- first, people are using setups that aren't right -- and are damaging motors and ESCs because they don't know yet what combos actually work right (we have seen many of these at tech support here.) Second reason is that there are higher failure rates on products early from just manufacturing defects -- we tend to have a few more failures early on 'cause we don't yet know what to look for when looking for common defects (every product has something...)

Also, please note we have built ALREADY six times more V2 MMM than V1 MMM.... (almost 3000 have shipped already) So there is going to be a LOT more reports of issues, just from the sheer numbers.

Patrick

Thanks for the info Patrick. It just seemed the numbers of failures were popping up pretty quickly now and I know I was getting worried, as I know the word on the net is that people are starting to get worried. I try and take the smoke on the internet cautously, but when there is growing smoke, there seems to be fire.
Frustration grows as the summer winds down and play time decreases.. especially with a large amount of money spent or playtime.

Again, thanks for the info. I will be the first to say... the customer service from you guys is outstanding.. speaking from experience now.

suicideneil 08.27.2008 07:28 PM

Thats some interseting info about MM vs MMM failure rates, I guess people shouod have more Faith in CC...

BrianG 08.27.2008 07:31 PM

All we need to do is take a survey and ask everyone who got a MMM how it's running. No one posts "Arrg, I'm so angry; my MMM works perfectly!"...

phatmonk 08.27.2008 07:44 PM

My 2 MMMv2s work perfectly.:whip:

Thanks for the info.

I do hope it was really shipped on the 11th of August. Like I told Christie, it normally takes about 6-9 days for me to receive a package shipped USPS Priority from the east coast. So, it should take less from the Midwest. However, it's been over 2 weeks and I still have not received any. In fact, if it has already reached the San Francisco Fleet Post Office, it would have been noted on the tracking number. However, that is not the case.

I have faith in your company and I totally understand the pain associated with a rollout of new products especially electronics. I just want to enjoy the benefits of the MMM before I go back to the ship in December for another 3 years.

slimthelineman 08.27.2008 08:54 PM

does anyone thats had a mmm repaired remember how long the turnaround was? they get mine at cc tonight or in the morning and would love to see that little black box in my car again asap so i can drive it. (for the first time!!!:))

USPS is pretty slack updating their systems sometimes. I always follow the tracking of my priority mail shipments, and probably 50% of the time its ok, and the other half just says something along the lines of 'electronic information has been lodged, this doesn't indicate we've received the parcel for delivery' - even after its been delivered to me.

Also, even shipping from the same store mine always seem to go take a different route from the shop to whatever airport they decide to use, so don't get to worried about your parcel, it'll come :)

I've recently had some shocking holdups in customs, with most of my parcels taking over a month to arrive - maybe something similar is happening there?

e-mike 08.27.2008 10:55 PM

for now what is the % of failure rate of the mmm v2 vs the v1??????(

and can we compare to the mm at the release?????

Sammus 08.27.2008 10:55 PM

so does tower now. go get em boys :P

Sammus 08.27.2008 10:56 PM

those numbers can probably considered confidential at castle. We've already been told the v2 failure rate is less than the mm failure rate. and the v1 I think a number was released (30%?)

e-mike 08.27.2008 11:03 PM

however its normal to have a ??% of failure for this kind of products(especially a controller)????

but cc do a great service....go guy's dont be scared of the mmm:party:

david lamontagn 08.27.2008 11:13 PM

I know that CC give a good servie, but i hope that a companie will came with a reliable controller, to play all summer long without be scared to connect the li-po pack on it.

At this time, this kind of controller don't exist yet:whistle:

CC can give a good service, but if we have to send the controller 2, 3 or 4 time in a summer, this mean that our e-revo is on the bench more time than on the track:diablo:
And you know like me Mike, here in Quebec, the summer is not very long, about 3 or 4 days:lol:

wade7575 08.27.2008 11:16 PM

I can tell you for sure there is no way any company is going to start making a product and feel that a 30% failure rate is acceptable would not be in Business very long, most company`s try to keep failure rates at around 1 to 2%.I`m sure the MMM V2 rate`s will be higher than what castle will want for the next couple of month`s and in time they will get the failure rate closer to where they want it.I also think it`s a bit early to start complaining about how many MMM V2`s have failed yet as most place`s have just started shipping them out,I would give it another week or 2 before I would start saying there all going to be dud`s like the first batch.

e-mike 08.27.2008 11:25 PM

im gonna cross my finger anyway,,,,,like i alway's do for my 3 v1 version:yes:

2 still going stong:whip: and one died after a weelie last week!!!!(after 3 month of hard street bashing:lol:)

all my 3 mmm v1 had the modiff of the bottom of the case(to prevent component issue)

Unfortunately, it does not work that way in the US military. Our packages do not go through Japanese customs because the Military bases outside the US are considered part of the continental US for mailing and shipping purposes. We don’t pay any customs duties or fees. That’s the main advantage of military mail system. The US Navy has itsr own postal clerks that do the job of regular post office employees. Our packages and mail are shipped to the San Francisco Post Office for distribution to the different bases/commands in the Pacific region. For mainland Japan, the mails and packages leaves San Francisco via air to the Yokohama Mail distribution Depot for further distribution to the different bases.

To add insult to injury, I just received a package containing revo parts I bought from an ebay seller located in Winsted, CT. It was shipped USPS Priority on Aug 18, 2008.

Here are some pics:

That’s about 9-10 days and CT is farther from San Francisco than Kansas :no::no::no:.

While your mail may not go through the international customs office, packages of certain weight and value still require customs documentation from the shipper and do pass through customs in certain respects. A small package that is very light and has a low value will pass through rather quickly and undetected(no delay), but a larger package with a $100 value or more will potentially take longer - Aside from that, priority mail isn't nearly foolproof. I have had packages take 5 days to get here via priotrity mail and other packages take 2 days via priority mail from the same place. Just FYI - I do tend to ship a lot pf packages, so I am pretty familiar with the ins and outs. :)

Sammus 08.28.2008 08:45 AM

Cool. I had an item from ebay sent for 3.55 GBP via standard royal air mail or whatever from the UK get here overnight on one occasion. Then today I got a parcel from the same seller, same postal method, take over a month of delivery. Postal system is weird.

Believe it or not, sometimes packages simply go missing(via UPS anyway).
I had a friend who was expecting her dell laptop that she'd bought. We tracked it to the local UPS office, went there and they didn't have it.
All she could do was file a claim and order a new laptop.
I don't think she ever got the original shipment either.
Not tryina scare anyone. Just sayin sometimes things don't go according to plan as I am sure you are aware.

I agree with you that's why it's important to anyone shipping me anything to fill out the customs form properly. Like you said, a smaller package that is light and has low value will pass through rather quickly and undetected. However, if you look at the shipping weight of the package I received, it weighed 2 lbs and 14 oz. That's almost 3 lbs. It was also valued at $180. Don't tell me that the MMM weighs close to 3 lbs :no::no:. Since you shipped me my original MMM before, you know too well how much it weighed including the Priority box. I also received it from your post office in about 8 days and taht's coming from New York.

Oh by the way, the box is 20" x 10 1/2" x 8" because it contained the revo extended chassis (foreground in the pic) plus other revo parts I bought.

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...Picture030.jpg

There are only 3 things that could have happened; either it was delayed, lost or it was not shipped at all. I'm hoping it's the first one.

joeling 08.28.2008 12:31 PM

This is good info thank u very much. Their stock just got reduced by 1

In the meantime, the one Mike sent me is sleeping at the customs office at my local post office tonight. My secretary was supposed to help me arrange a pickup but she forgot :whip:.

Anyway, not long now...
