I don't see the diffs listed anymore. Didn't they sell them out? Thought I remember people saying they were receiving lots of refunds because many of the popular items were all gone.
|
Yes it did.
Yes that was the case. I received 4 of them and just placed another order with one more diff on the list this past weekend. They still had some over the weekend, just not the hardened diff. I guess now those are gone as well. Try hitting AMain and see if they have any left.

Will this one fit mikes CD mount? Is it better than the HB diff? |
The size of the spur gears you can use is listed & discussed a few pages back, have a quick look through. The ofna diff is arguably better as it has a metal case, but I've only ever seen 1 plastic 1/8 scale diff case thats become damaged inside and had to be replaced. Just one...
Which size spur you actually use is just a question of gearing for a certain speed with a certain kv motor and certain sized tires etc- use BrianG's calculator to determine what sizes you can use ( bearing in smind the size/ tooth count limited and pitches- 32p or Mod1.0 ). |
Is the spur gear standard? Will hb fit the ofna diff?
I dont find what page u talk about, please Link. But the ofta diff will fit the mount? |
Yes

The mount itself will accomodate up to around a 47t without the need for clearance below the spur gear. Larger spurs will fit the mount, but clearance below it would be needed to accomodate the spur diameter and gearing would become limited with large spurs as well(has a pretty wide range, though). In a standard maxx truck, nothing larger than a 44t spur will fit between the chassis braces without clearance issues, but the mount itself will indeed accomodate larger gears. :)

Thanks and welcome home :) |
Hoping to get the next batch done for next week - still catching up on emails, etc. while I was at RCX. :)
|
You mean you didn't have a laptop with you at the RCX booth answering emails at the same time? For shame! And here I thought you were superhuman.

What kind of oil do i use in à cd? 10000?
|
In a maxx that won't hit the track I'd do 20,000-30,000, It would make for better wheelies when desired. If you plan to bash or race with truggies I'd say yeah 10k. This is assuming 4s and dirt conditions.
|
Maxx truck, 5s, bashtruck...
30k? |
Yeah or 20k.
|
Thanks

I should be able to keep this version in stock - it is more "universal" than the previous version in that the bearing inserts are plastic and can be removed - a custom insert could allow a different bearing type, such as the losi flanged bearing. Also, with the inserts removed, a 19mm bearing should fit(didn't chase high tolerance, but it will be very close, as the hole is drawn at .75" and a 19mm bearing = .748"). The sliding upper plate also allows easy fitment of different length diffs by allowing the uprights to be spaced as needed.
|
Nice!
Looks good, I like it definately better than the previous version. But still wouldn't trade it for my g-maxx edition:lol: |
