I'd imagine he can. He can get pretty much anything you want if it exists.

Patrick 06.10.2007 02:58 AM

You did it already! Thanks!

BrianG 06.11.2007 10:04 PM

Just fixed an error on the CRT.5 truggy differential ratio. Thanks to skellyo for the tip!

I think I've seen that before - nice job!

If you want to borrow any data from my web version, feel free. Most of the data and common functions are in the "library.js" file, which is called in all the pages. I'm sure you know how to get the file, but I can also send it to you. Each data array has comments to describe what the various values are.
I think I will. It'll be a lot easier than trying to find all the ratios on my own.

Dang, you have 76 error messages?!?!?!

jhautz 06.22.2007 11:07 PM

Hey Brian!!! Your a Mod!!! Nice job Man. When did that happen??? I just noticed.

Congrats Dude!

jnev 06.22.2007 11:08 PM

Actually quite a while ago, lol. :005:

BrianG 06.23.2007 12:08 AM

Yeah, it was about a month ago or so, lol. Thanks for the belated congrats though. :)

jhautz 06.23.2007 12:34 AM

I guess I'm kinda slow on the uptake sometimes! :p

BrianG 08.25.2007 04:15 PM

Just an update to highlight changes posted from the temp forum into this one:

07/25/2007
- Fixed KV error for the Neu 1512/3d.

07/29/2007
- Added Oil Mixture Calculator.
- Added motor torque calculations to the Top Speed Estimator page.

Web links on the last page work once again since the original forums are back online. Yay!

And Seth556; I assume you are talking about the large array? Those aren't really error messages, but data for the help function (called up by the little ? symbols). Having them in an array makes it easy to call the message by array position rather than passing the text to the help function...

BrianG 09.03.2007 04:24 PM

A few more changes:

09/03/2007:
- Added spurs for the E-Maxx, Ofna CR, Ofna CRT, Losi 8ight, and Losi 8ight-T
- Added warning for speeds at or over 45mph due to drivetrain drag, wind resistance, etc
- Added more explanation for the tire diameter input field. Some people were confusing this with *rim* diameter.
- Moved the MambaMax motors to the lower-end class (were in the mid-range class).

snellemin 09.03.2007 06:26 PM

That motor torque calculation is still my favorite feature.

coolhandcountry 09.28.2007 07:46 PM

Man brian. This one has grown since last checked in. You been busy.

BrianG 09.29.2007 12:46 AM

lol, it grew little by little. I still remember "v1" and how comparatively simple that was.

coolhandcountry 10.11.2007 06:12 PM

What is that lastest updates brian?

BrianG 10.11.2007 09:03 PM

I really don't have anything to add as of yet. I was going to create some type of current draw estimator page, but didn't have enough samples of real-world data to extrapolate an accurate calculation. As usual, ideas are welcome.

jnev 10.11.2007 11:24 PM

If you can add the ratio's of the RC10GT, that would be great. I can't seem to find the ratio's of the tranny, but I'll keep looking.

The ratio is 2.60:1...

Bye:mdr:

BrianG 10.12.2007 09:38 AM

Even though the ratios are nice to have, I actually need the two gears that make up the ratio. I've found that people tend to round up/down ratios and I'd like to keep the precision as high as possible. So, if you could provide the tooth counts of the two gears that make up the ratio, that would be better.

jnev 10.14.2007 01:37 PM

Which two gears are used for the ratio? I am re builidng the tranny in the RC10GT hopefully today so I should be able to find the tooth count on the gears.

BrianG 10.14.2007 02:54 PM

Some systems are a little more difficult to calculate the ratio because the diff is part of the tranny. If you can find an exploded view of the tranny that has enough detail, I can figure it out...

lutach 10.14.2007 03:00 PM

BrianG,

You should add the Neu Motors 1521 and 1527 series to your motor selection in your speed calculator.

jnev 10.14.2007 03:23 PM

I found this exploded view:
http://www.teamassociated.com/shusti...gs/dsf_gt3.pdf
And this link for the part numbers:
http://www.teamassociated.com/misc/d...e/db_kitgt.htm

Is that all you need?

BrianG 10.14.2007 05:35 PM

I'll look into adding the 1521/27 series motors. I was trying to limit to what Mike has in the store, but we'll see.

I looked at the RC10 exploded views and found that there are two spur options; 64T and 66T, both 32P. The diff "ring gear" is 52T, but nothing on the TA site says how many teeth on the pinion part of the diff. Also, it doesn't say how many teeth on the idler gear.

So, in order to add this truck to the list, I'll need the main shaft pinion (#6571) and the idler (#5570) tooth counts.

BrianG 10.14.2007 06:18 PM

OK, added the Neu 1521/27 series motors. Also did a couple other small things, but nothing visible to you guys. I'll wait to add the RC10gt stuff until I get more info...

Very nice. If I use my 1521 1y with 10S lipos, I'll be able to hit around 119MPH. I'll be happy if it goes 80 or 90MPH LOL. I'll run it first with my 2 11.1v 5000mAh KongPower packs to see how it does. On 22.2v it shows a possible speed of 60MPH give or take a few.

jnev 10.14.2007 11:38 PM

There are actually a lot more spur gear options than that. They range from a 67t spur to a 54t spur.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...gear&search=Go

I'll keep on looking for the idler and main shaft pinion gear counts. I'll probably just end up emailing Associated...

Patrick 10.15.2007 12:11 AM

If you're be building it, can't you just count the teeth while it's apart?

jnev 10.15.2007 12:18 AM

I didn't get a chance to rebuild the tranny today unfortunately. I was busy all day. I'll try to get it all done next weekend, as well as updated pics of the RC10GT that will be just about ready to bash.

Yeah, I kinda figured there were more spur options, but it's funny that they list the tooth count and pitch for some gears and not others. I suppose if you know the EXACT tranny ratio, I could work backwards to figure out the pinion. And speaking of that, I really don't need the idler gear tooth count since it doesn't do anything but reverse rotational direction.

jnev 10.15.2007 06:33 PM

Got an email back from Associated the next day... very fast response, and I emailed them on Sunday. This is what they said:
Quote:

The top shaft gear #6571 is 20 tooth, and the idler gear #6570 is 26 tooth.

BrianG 10.15.2007 10:07 PM

Thanks for that info, but (and you're not gonna like this), the RC10 diff ratio was already listed in the calc as "RC10 T/B4", so I changed it to "RC10 T/B4/GT". I also added the tranny ratio for that truck, but it's actually 1 since all the gear reduction is done at the diff.

I found I had a duplicate "1.3v" value in the battery drop-down list, so I removed that.

I also added voltages from 2.2v to 2.6v to account for A123 cells.

New version uploaded already.

jnev 10.16.2007 10:45 AM

I'm a moron.

Thanks for the help Brian!!

BrianG 10.16.2007 11:17 AM

LOL, if you're a moron, than so am I since I didn't see it either. But, in defense, the entry was at the bottom of the list and needed to scroll down one line to see it.

BrianG 10.29.2007 05:12 PM

Last night, my site had some issues where I couldn't access the calculator, and it got me thinking. Does anyone have any extra webspace to mirror these pages? It only needs 560kB of space and doesn't use any CGI functions (it's all client-side stuff), so it's just a drop-in...

BlackedOutREVO 10.29.2007 05:21 PM

One thing I need

Is the new emaxx data added, so I can get gearing lol...... Just to add something to the to do list

=D

BrianG 10.29.2007 05:24 PM

Not yet. But, if you can get the gear tooth counts for the tranny, diffs, etc, I'll add them. If I have time in the next few nights, I'll see if the parts list and exploded views are avaiable for download and add them.

BlackedOutREVO 10.29.2007 05:25 PM

I will go see if I can get them

Arct1k 10.29.2007 05:25 PM

I have a domain which I believe has space... I just use it for email currently...

www.kuona.com

BrianG 10.29.2007 05:26 PM

lol, you use the same host I do (1&1). It would be funny to have the main site and the mirror on the same server.

I wish I knew a thing or two about this, but I have might plenty of webspace. I used FrontPage to make my site. I might have trouble figuring the password LOL. You will also need to guide me step by step.
