I have a G-Maxx that it would look FABULOUS in!!!

For those with either the V3 or the V2 with new software, what temps are you measuring when the fan kicks off and on. I had 80-90 deg F on the outside using my infrared temp sensor pointed down into the the fan area when it kick off. Sound about right?

I have no temp sense but the fan definitely spins up later now. Previous FW was 1.18.

hey fellas,

i had a strange event with the MMM on its recent outing, and patrick please advise me if necessary. i was doing some rally driving ( sweeping left and right handers video to come) on some packed dirt near the lake. car slid and got traction and threw itself onto its lid. i then kept on driving and lucky i had remembered the temp gun and did a few runs and temped it. the fan was not spinning when i thought it should. i thought maybe i caught it when it had just switched off... but no... temped at 140-160!!! so i just shut it down.. game over. was rather pissed. pulled it dpown for a clean and low and behold the fan was ceased. i could see a piece(only just) of twig lodged between the blade but couldnt remove it from the outside. as a result i opened her up and cleaned out the offending debris. now it works perfectly. have i damaged my MMM or voided anything by doing this as opposed to spending $50AUD sending to you guys to do the same exact thing?

I'm sure Patrick could answer this better, but in case he doesn't see your question....

I really believe they are just protecting themselves by reserving the right to refuse warranty service to those who open the case. Mainly for those who do damage to the ESC while prying the case open. The big concern, IIRC, was people opening the case to do "improvement mods" that were actually unnecessary...and in opening the case, they were jamming screwdrivers and other crap into the case to pry it open thus causing damage to the main board in the process. I believe they still honored the warranty(very nice of them), but were probably getting tired of doing so....and decided to send out a friendly "warning" letter to prevent future mishaps. If you didnt damage the internals by opening the case, you will probably still be under warranty w/o issue. Any other company would probably look for any excuse to shut you out...but In my experiance, Castle will have your back.

Thats why I just bought my 6th ESC from them
