So far as I know, thats about the worst place you put put the rx, apart from next to the esc- massive amounts of rf and em interference coming from the motor and motor power wires.

Hey Neil, have a look at my other thread, if you have some ideas about where to mount the receiver please post there - http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20702

Alright people, I finally have pictures (and a quick video) of my Maxx center diff conversion completed!

aww i wanted to see it running! anyways, I think it's a little risky with the soft cased lipo so close to the spurgear, even with those posts there. one nasty crash and it might just get chewed to bits(followed immediatly by fire)

Looks pretty good.. I agree with mike.. Use some protection
|
Looks good Chris. What are you going to make for battery trays?

I'm not sure I'd trust electrical tape to hold your $200 pair of lipos...
|
Heh, I had some of those battery trays once on my TXT-1. What you could do is have a piece of plastic/ alloy in place of the posts (on edge), with a channel for the spur gear if some clearance is required on the insides.

To Ian - it actually holds really good, they hardly move at all. |
Just got some video of it doing some speed runs and bashing, and my front diff stripped. Seems like it only breaks when its being filmed...
It's uploading now, have to edit it, will be posted in a couple hours. |
|
Cool video. I can hear you:
"Ok, my front diff is gone. I know! I'll just drive in reverse!" |
