ok, so i got my camera working again. here are some pics of recent work on the 1/5.
modded bumper. looks much more like truggy bumper. <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/?action=view¤t=DSC01253.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/DSC01253.jpg" border="0" alt="redcat35"></a> picked up a set of chrome spoke wheels. <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/?action=view¤t=DSC01254.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/DSC01254.jpg" border="0" alt="redcat34"></a> here are the integy disc brakes. coming along nice but not done yet. cant wait to get these all hoooked up. <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/?action=view¤t=DSC01255.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/DSC01255.jpg" border="0" alt="redcat33"></a> <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/?action=view¤t=DSC01256.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/DSC01256.jpg" border="0" alt="redcat32"></a> set of modded baja 5b shocks on the rear. baja front shocks to come this week. these are 10x better than the rampage shocks and have a huge 6mm shock shaft for super strength. <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/?action=view¤t=DSC01257.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/DSC01257.jpg" border="0" alt="redcat31"></a> used a set of kyosho big bore shock boots as dog bone boots. these work much better than the huge HPI or Darksoul boots they sell for this. <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/?action=view¤t=DSC01258.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/ryujames/DSC01258.jpg" border="0" alt="shockbootRR"></a> so this week should be a good week. i am anticipating getting my motor mount and spur gear back from the machine shop, my Hydra hv240 arrives, and a few other things that i plan to get done. i am hoping to have something that is starting to resemble a finished truck by next week. we'll see. |
looks great!!
I am curious how the breaks are. |

carbon fiber brake discs, cool. do you have to balance the break-power or does that work automatically? I remember that from eg. old landrover, when the mechanical breaks are not well adjusted, the car turns right or left when breaking.

Very nice, I'm jealous. And I wanna see a closeup of the brakes without the disc. I'm curious where the mounting holes lined up.
With your brake bias, your right you don't have to worry front to rear right now. But you do have to worry about left to right, as there is a diff between them. If it is off it'll probably be most noticable when you first apply the breaks, or when applying light to moderate pressure. The solid center diff will help even things out alot, as each wheel is not as independant. With your skills I'm sure it'll be setup pretty close on the bench either way. Keep it up |
I got my 2215 today and "it's so big !"
 |
wow. great work. Look forward to the end result
