Thats good to hear, i've beat the crap out of mine for a while now and have only broken a rear upright, and bent one hinge pin "same side".

What other body fits the Ten-T
Has anyone found any other bodies that fit the ten t?
I bought mine as a roller w/o a body. I would prefer something tough like the jconcepts stuff. Considered a buggy body but not sure it offers enough protection. If limited to the stock body how are they holding up? Also what is the best way to convert to 17mm. Looked at the traxxas ones but did not want to grind the spacer part off. Gets to close to the hub IMO. I've seen the FLM ones but don't like the way they stick out. Thanks for any help. |
Actually the losi bodies are pretty strong. As far as the wheel hexs the traxxas ones seem to be the easiest way to convert to 17mm.

Thanks Bryan

M2C Racing makes a 17mm Adapter Kit for the Ten-T. I cant vouch for them as I just used the Traxxas ones.
If you like the Buggy bodies some guys on the Losi forum have been modding the 8ight-E body to fit the Ten-t. Quote:

Yeah I have them now. Work great, bolt right on. However, like most I am guessing, I was concerned about how they narrow the vehicle so much with buggy wheels on. So he came back and said that he is deigning new ones to keep the stock width but wont be done for a few weeks. |
I love my Ten-T but unfortunately have no one to run against around here... Anyone interested in buying or trading for a 1/8th truggy of some sort?
I used the Revo 17mm hexes and made the mistake of grinding down too much on the back without test fitting between grinding. Luckily I had a couple extra 17mm hanging around from some parts lot I got (god knows when?) in the past. |
I have a Kyosho MP777 SP1 with Ultra Racing 7075-T6 (by Fioroni) front & rear shock towers, front C-Hubs, front & rear hinge-pin/toe mounts...brand-new chassis and brand-new Avid RC bearings everywhere (even the steering). It comes with a yellow Pro-Line wing, orange & black stock body, and is complete (including hardware) minus the engine, electronics, and wheels & tires. I was going to convert it to brushless, but if you're interested, I would love to have a Ten-T! The buggy is completely apart right now for a full cleaning and bearing replacement, but it would be cleaned and assembled if you were interested.
Edit: Oh, you wanted a truggy, I didn't see that at first...sorry. |
Finally broke a front cvd axle last night at my buddys track.Bought a complete set of 4 for $33 on fleabay today incuding shipping. The down fall is the guy is in canada:whip:Guess im gonna be forced to get my 8ight t 2.0 out this weekend:lol:

So after reading this whole forum, my question is what diff fluids are people liking the most for racing? I am going to run the Tekin 1900 combo with a Losi plastic 45 spur and probably start with a 15 tooth Mod 1 pinion. There are a few modifications to Mike's conversion and the spur gear to make this work. Let me know what you guys are thinking for diff oils. I was going to try 7-10-2 but I am not sure.

Just my .02 cents Oh yeah, got my c/v shafts from canada today so i was able to get in a couple packs:party: |
FYI: The stock setup is not Mod 1, it's kinda in between Mod 1 and Mod 0.8 (or 32p). Mod 1 may work, but there will probably be premature wear.
|
Yeah I am running Mod 1 since I have so many pinions. I always keep spare spurs also since I run 8T 2.0 with the Losi 45 tooth spur.

I just got my conversion kit yesterday, this thing looks great!! Now I'm just waiting for my damn Ten-T to get here. I did make one mistake though, I must have entered something in the speed calc wrong and ended up ordering the wrong pinion. A 25t with a 2250kv T8 might be a bit much. Hopefuly my LHS will have something smaller while I order another one from Mike.

Whoa, 25T pinion, hehe!
Anyway, be sure to post lots of pics of your conversion/build progress when you get the truck and get started! |
Can someone get a measurement on shock lengths from the Ten-T, both from and rear shocks, at the mounting point? greatly appreciated...
|
Front 3 1/4", Rear 3 3/4" center to center.
Why is there smoke coming from your ears  I thought about a set of 2.0 shocks but they are a little off ,but would possibly work with a little modification. |

So the MC2 wheel adapter kit is a better option if I want closer to SCT withs? |
You mean these:) I asked Casey on the losi forums how he managed the wheelbase. He said he flipped the rear arms left to right and did a little dremel work, got 23mm longer out of it, but you loose the droop screws.
He also said that the best way in the future will be a proper chassis. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...chmentaspx.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ment-1aspx.jpg |

Put some words down.... Make of parts and where you got them and price is nice too! :rules: |
He used an 8ight conversion. Mikes RCM conversion is much nicer and durable, and cooler looking!!!!!!!

Did you see the new Tekin 550 long can SCT motors comming out in 4.5 & 5.5... thats what I can run and be in the class rules! Sweet!! |

I would also like to know what bumpers those are. They look like Traxxas, but looking at amain's website I don't see them under Slash, Slash 4x4 or Slayer.
I flipped my arms, but instead of mounting the shocks they way he did it, I mounted them to the front side of the tower and stock position on the arms. The wheel base is now there, thinking either ProTrac wheels or m2c 17mm hex adapters. Also the Slash 4x4 front bumper pretty much mounts right up. What would be cool would be if you could post the link to that build from the Losi forum, because I can't find it on there anywhere. |
Nice job on the back end... shocks look like they are perfect. Now... can the droop screw be re drilled and taped? More guys more! Mine is here in 5 days...
think im going with 18t pinion to work with the R1 448 motor combo i already have. Then its the new Tekin SCT motor for me when they come out. M2C 17mm wheel adaptors and some prolines....:intello: |

Ten-T CF Short Course Chassis
Anyone have a spare chassis they can send to John at MoosRacing? http://www.moosracing.mono.net/
I sent him an email about a custom length Ten-T chassis for Short Course, he said for $100 he could make a custom chassis, he just needs a template to start with. I would like some general concensus on the exact lenght the chassis should be streched, or even if this project is worth it... Droop screw plates would be a nice addition too, and maybe only the holes for Mikes battery tray (nitro delete). Here is the thread on the Hyper 9 that inspired me. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27360 http://www.moosracing.mono.net/upl/9...cing3290_0.jpg http://www.moosracing.dk/images/models/771863.jpg |
If you have a Ten-T, take yours apart and send it to him. Sacrifice a little to gain a bunch...

How much pain do i have to go throu before mike shippes me a new conversion kit? It must be clear to the blind eye that my kit has not been made as well as all the other ones? or do all you other people drive slower than nitro cars? |
Remind me to never sell anything to you.
