Yes. Both rolls in the video were due to mashing the throttle. Let me know how the foams work out. Seems like they would wear out fast...but I can see that they will probably stick better.

What/who makes that spool?

And any tips on building this puppy up? My buddy is building one currently, and wants a speed machine, CC combo, 220 KV, 5s, and a zippy 4000 mah batt

Ofna makes the center spool. There is a picture and part# back around page 8 or 9. Let me know if you can not find it and I will look it up . . .

If you want a single speed center, then you will need these parts. You can either buy them separately or use parts from the stock 2-speed to build the center:

http://www.nitrohouse.com/catalog/pr...ducts_id=11306

http://www.nitrohouse.com/catalog/pr...ducts_id=11016 (you can ditch the shaft that comes with the silver aluminum spur mount)

http://www.nitrohouse.com/catalog/pr...ducts_id=10760

http://www.nitrohouse.com/catalog/pr...ducts_id=12091

You will also need a 13mm long piece of 8.1mm inner diameter steel tubing and a couple of 8mm steel washers because the 8mm center drive shaft does not have bearing stops milled on it to prevent the shaft from sliding back and forth.

BTW...this thing is nuts on 5S. I had a hard time keeping the tires from spinning with my 5S/2200kv. I couldn't imagine 6S.

Guys,

Today I received the top plate from RCPD and does not seem to fit too well. The top plate is from the E-Jammin' kit to the best of knowledge. Now I know I can easily modify the plate to fit but I have some concerns since I also ordered the motor plate. Ofna says the DM-1 Spec drive train is based off the Jammin', correct? Here are some pictures below--let me know what you think.

I really like the plate because you can arrange it to have the ESC close to the front as well :intello:.

You should be able to open up each of the four mounting holes just a little bit and you'll be good to go. You will also probably need four 1.5mm spacers (I used the black ones that Ofna sends with their kits for the hinge pins) to raise up that top plate enough to accommodate the 51T spur. Check the spare parts bags that came with your DM-1 Spec...you should see some small black plasitc spacers that will work perfect.

You are 'da man! I did peek under the motor plate and looked like it needed a lift. I will find the 4 spacers and do a little drilling. Cheers!

Very nice car...
How many height of chassis from ground? How many mm. is it different from Ofna Ultra GTP?

The setup is a quite bit a different than the Ultra GTP. The GTP car is based directly off the buggy. The DM-1 cars have a different design for the front suspension and a longer (I believe), thinner chassis. The car sets about 8mm off the ground according to my crude measurements.

Alright! I received the RCPD motor mount today. The top plate, not surprisingly, fits perfectly onto this mount. I also got the RC-Monster battery tray and will wait to permanently mount it until I get the motor and remainder of the electronics. I hope to balance the car out left to right and front to back the best as I can. If you guys have tips on how to balance weight please let me know. Here are some more pics . . .

Looks sharp! You are going to love driving this car. Did you remove the hard coating from the RCPD parts? Everything that I have ordered from him has a white coating...

Nah, they did not. Strange because all the ones I have seen pics of appeared to have a white, almost ceramic, coating. I did not remove anything. I wanted to anodize but the finish is a little rough. Maybe I can do some sort of bead blast and/or polishing but not sure if I will go through all that trouble just yet. I just ordered the Neu 1512/1.5D !

All I need now is get the ESC and servo . . .

Well, you should be glad...because the mysterious white coating is difficult to deal with (asthetically) if you have to modify/drill/alter the parts. You are well on your way my friend! I sent out the center drive tubing today so you should have it in a day or two!

Thank you
so gtp is more ground clearance, isn't it?

Thanks so much for shipping SST tubing for the center drive. I am so psyched to get this thing on the road. I still have a little way to go but have time because if there is not snow in the parking lots it is wet from melting. I found a company http://www.extremercracing.com that makes a graphite servo tray that might fit once modified--they are much easier to modify with a dremel. Did you tap screw holes in the RC-Monster battery tray?
