How much pain do i have to go throu before mike shippes me a new conversion kit? It must be clear to the blind eye that my kit has not been made as well as all the other ones? or do all you other people drive slower than nitro cars?

I would take pics of anything you think is bad , bent or brokin. Then I would nicly explain what I was doing at the time of the problem that ocured...
Foward all the info to RC Monster..... then go from there!

FG101C 06.26.2010 03:07 PM

I've worked on the rear bumper. I am using a Slash 4x4 bumper, borrowed some ideas I saw on other forums. It's pretty easy really and I don't think it looks to rigged. Although my dremeling of plastic skills suck.

I plan on using the wing mount as the body mount/rear bumper tie in. Looks ok so far.

I ordered a RPM front bumper for the Slash 4x4, I also emailed T Bone Racing about making a front bumper like their Hyper 10 SC, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=120572260481 but with the Ten-T bolt pattern, waiting to see what they say.

Topsy Kretts 06.26.2010 03:21 PM

There are some great idea's here, keep us informed on what you end up with on those bumpers:yes:I haven't read all the posts, but I noticed a lot of people using different wheel adapters so they can install SC wheels and tire's.I'm not sure if this has been addressed, but I pulled the wheels and tires off my Traxxas Slayer which are 14mm hexes and they were a perfect fit:yipi:

FG101C 06.26.2010 03:24 PM

Whats the offset on those Slayer wheels. From what I've read to get the wheels to fit under the body we need to use the Pro-Line ProTrac 0mm offset wheels, it requires Slash 4x4 hexes (12mm) and some dremmeling/drilling. If the Slayer wheels are by chance 0mm offset that would be great.

Topsy Kretts 06.26.2010 07:27 PM

Your right! way to wide for even my widest body, the JC Manta:neutral: 0 offset is definitly the way to fly:yes: I just set the stock body on the truck with those wheels and tires, never really checked SC bodies for width:lol:With these wheels on the truck,it's as wide as it is long:surprised:

i am thinking to convert a losi ten of these and run it with vxl combo on 2s only.
will run good on 2s lipo?

gone banana 06.28.2010 09:11 AM

hi guy i got pictures of my ten-t E on rctech i have pro trac rims got an rpm bumper for sc10 20.00 test drove it sunday with a little tuning it while be the fastes 4wd out there

i will put list of thing i did tonight

Topsy Kretts 06.29.2010 11:21 AM

Thanks Yeah I'll check it out, I waited a while before I bought Mike's conversion to see if the 4x4 class would keep up with the 2wd class. Well it seem to be catching up with 2wd:yes: I Love this conversion:party: I used a 1509 1.5y/f Neu motor geared at 54/17 with a MMP esc with 0 punch control to start, HOLY CR&P Batman this thing is the bomb:great: The nitro set-up has nothing on this!!!!!! Temps were just warm to the touch, not worth putting a gun to, that is using 4200mah 4s packs. Diffs are 5/7/3 but may go to 5 in the center to get a bit more steering, really have not played with the shocks yet. This puppy has a ton of potential, and its built as heavy duty as any 1/8 scale out there:yes: If you are on the fence about this conversion kit, time to climb off:lol: Best money I have spent on RC in a while!!! Thanks Mike and all you Guy's that help point us in the right Direction.

Man, because of the weight of the truck I think you would be tax that set-up too much and burn up your esc pretty Quick:cry:

Slash 4x4 RPM Bumper on my TEN

I used the Slash 4x4 bumper because the two front screws matched perfect,I removed the stock bumper and added longer screws. Still might drill and tap two more screws to make it bulletproof.....

Next is the Proline Protrack wheels they are neg.10* and put you at the legal with.
Teckno has the wheel hexes 12 mm no mod needed:

FG101C 07.01.2010 12:04 PM

I got the tekno hexes, yes they are drilled for 6mm axles. The Problem I found is the pins, they use the stock traxxas pins which are much smaller than the pin holes in the axles so there is alot of play. Going to try to dremel the hexes to use the tent pins.

By the way I HATE this POS iPhone, took 8 minutes to type this. POS does what it wants not what I want it to do, pretentious proprietary aholes.

XXXDAD 07.01.2010 01:24 PM

Oh! How about heating up the pin and melting it into place... use a pair of lock pliers needle nose. heat the pin and brand that baby into the slot... ??? I didnt know!

FG101C 07.03.2010 01:43 AM

I tried filing a stock ten-t hex, that didn't work to good.

I'm going to abandon my thread about my build and just post here. I finally got my conversion kit back from my anodizer and it looks great. I got it black hard coated .004" so the finish will hold up. I'm running a Tekin RX8 with a truggy 2250kv motor on 4s. I also extended the ESC switch wires so I can use the stock switch on the radio box.

I see most people are going the SC route but I'm thinking a buggy is more for me. I also have some Al braces drawn up in Solidworks. Now I just need the time to machine them. Here are some pics so far.

bryan 07.07.2010 08:25 PM

Looks good, cant wait to see the custom bracing.Mike could probrably offer the black finish as an option if the time is there.

That's very possible. We send out around 300,000 parts a year to our anodizer so I figured a few parts for myself wouldn't hurt. Now I have to figure out what to do with our laser engraver. I'm thinking a tiny RCM logo on the diff brace.

reno911 07.19.2010 12:12 PM

So I picked one of these up over the weekend in a trade. Quite the fun looking little bastard. It isn't too small, yet it isn't too big.

Besides the usual TLC of getting all of the nitro crap off the chassis and stripping it of it's unneeded counterparts, I was thinking this would be quite the basher.

So up next is a few necessities, a new a-arm and shock cap that need replacing. Then I will go with the RCM conversion kit for sure to get this thing headed in the right direction.

I have yet to decide on the power I want to run in this guy. It seems light enough for a Castle 2650 on 3s, but I see most here have went with more. Maybe a Hobbywing 150a and a castle 2200 on 4s?

The body was also pretty tattered, is there a replacement out there, I am thinking the Rustler shells may be a viable transplant, or something for the Jato.

Anyways I am excited to finish this guy. I never took to smaller things that well, but this guy is just about the right size, and looks to be a key performer in terms of handling and airtime. Last small guy was the mini-revo and I was not impressed with its handing or durability, unless heavily modified.

This guy looks like he may become my take everywhere with me RC.

reno911 07.23.2010 06:18 PM

Such great popularity all of a few weeks ago, now nothing?

BrianG 07.23.2010 07:46 PM

Probably because it was new then, now it's "old hat".

I still use mine quite a bit. Actually, I really only use the Ten-T for bashing around, and the XT8 to pull my kid around the neighborhood. I'm thinking of selling a bunch of my other vehicles as a result.

reno911 07.23.2010 07:50 PM

Well I guess that is part of the hobby...

Like drifting!

reno911 07.24.2010 02:34 PM

Well I just put an order in for Mikes kit! I got the replacements I needed the other day. So all I will be needing now is a power system, and I am off to try and break it...

bryan 07.24.2010 11:36 PM

I broke a shock cap today. What aluminum caps work?

reno911 07.25.2010 03:12 PM

I have bought from these guys before, might be able to find something that is close. Probably wont be the same diameter though...

reno911 08.02.2010 07:32 PM

Thanks Mike, great kit. Looks and performs wonderfully.

Got to love Revo pushrods, they have been finding their way into many of my vehicles.

I even managed to get the telemetry to work, had to add one hole to the chassis however.

Pretty fun little guy. Haven't got it to the track yet, and it still needs some suspension tuning, but it makes one fun little basher.

I have been looking into getting some tires/wheels for racing and so far I have come across this combo. Question is will they work?

reno911 09.13.2010 03:06 PM

Did some rough estimation on the dims I figured they are the same size and made the purchase.

I need some recommendations on diff set up, I tore down the diffs last night to redo them for this Wednesday. The track is indoors, very tight, hard packed dirt, that gets a bit loomy after a while.

I was thinking 7 in the front maybe 10 and 3ish in the rear, with 100 in the mid.

Another thing added to the list:

I finally got to see one of these in real life, Cool little truck, Smaller than i thought it would be. I plan to get one and convert it using the RC-Monster parts, Is the spur for the diff 32 pitch or mod-1? I know its plastic, If 32 pitch, Would it be able to handle a Lehner 1200 basic XL and a 5s lipo?

Thanks for answering

RC-Monster Mike 09.18.2010 08:00 AM

The spur is a cnc machined Delrin mod.8 - they are quite rugged. No problem handling a Lehner Basic motor(I run mine on a Tekin 1900Kv buggy system with 4s or 5s).

crazyjr 09.22.2010 06:04 PM

Thanks mike, i plan to get and convert one within the year, hopefully within 6 months

I have the conversion kit and have a question. There are two holes in the bottom aluminum plate that goes on the chassis. There are two holes in the plate that line up with holes in the chassis. The holes in the plate are NOT threaded so there is no way to use a screw and the kit did not include bolts. I cannot tell from other peoples pictures if there are screws there or not.

I have marked the attached picture so you can see what I am talking about.

Thanks,
