:surprised::surprised::surprised:

$3200!! is that in pounds or USD?

because $3200 pounds is $5,652.80 USD as of the 3rd of october 2008 at07:00:17 UTC

jordan... 10.03.2008 03:43 AM

I would assume $3200 USD. $5000+ USD and you'd have a full blown UE Supermaxx plus a box load of spares, (just ask plettenbergs)

suicideneil 10.03.2008 12:28 PM

$, yeah. I could have several 'good' trucks for that much money, but one awesome truck is more my style (I do have some, I swear).

Anyway, I went to the park today to make a movie, and test my new Zippy H 4000mah 25-35C 5s lipos, but after only 5 minutes this happend:

Crap.

Anyone got any spares floating around, or some alloy/Ti/steel versions? I may try seeing if RC4WD will just sell me the single gear I need, rather than a whole kit (2 outputs & 2 idlers), but at least the stockers are cheap to replace.

jordan... 10.03.2008 11:24 PM

:gasp: good work Neil, i thought once you had the steel idler in there you would be set, never seen that before.

As for the RC4wd gears, they're aluminium arent they? If they're not hardened steel i don't know how they would hold up against the hardened steel idler. I know the ULTRAMAXXED gears were 7075 aluminium, but used brass (i think it was) idlers

George16 10.04.2008 12:05 AM

The RC4wd gears are made of 6061T6 aluminum. I have a full set brand new in my spare tranny.

Here's a couple of pics:

Nice. I didnt really think about the effect the steel idler would have on an alloy output gear, but the alloy input gear is doiing just fine, so fingers crossed RC4WD will get back to me on my request.

suicideneil 10.06.2008 11:58 AM

Well, I got a reply from RC4WD about the gears- they said they can give me $10 off the cost of a full set, but they dont sell them seperately. Guess that'll have to do really, as UltraMaxxed gears are impossible to find, and even the steal rip-offs have vanished from ebay. On the upside, I think I've identified every weak point to the emaxx design now.... :mdr:

plettenbergs 10.06.2008 04:07 PM

i have some stockers i can send you for free i think!...I cant part with my 3 sets of ULTRAMAXXED GEARS!

suicideneil 10.06.2008 08:07 PM

Nah, I've already got 2 spare output gears arriving tomorrow hopefully, so no worries. 3 sets of Ultramaxxed gears though, that must have cost a pretty penny I bet...

thephilonator 10.06.2008 10:40 PM

Haha, "pretty penny", strange poms.

plettenbergs 10.06.2008 10:50 PM

i know the guy that made them!...he gave me a deal on the last 3 new sets in the world!...gen3 version!!

thephilonator 10.07.2008 04:20 AM

guess you must feel pretty special. Lol

How much might it cost me to pry one set from you?
