Just to let you know, it is possible to mount the older T-maxx tranny on the Gmaxx chassis, but as you discovered the newer style Revo tranny is a slightly different shape/mounting pattern I believe. Having mech brakes on the G2r would be rather nice, since you could run a plane esc and some really high voltage electronics setups without the fear of only having a handbrake to slow the truck down, lol.

Well, heres an update . I have a ofna hyper pro spider center diff on the way . So, I will have to wait till it gets here to polish these up or remake them altogether lol . Heres some pics from todays project .

Looks good. Why do you have the motor adjustment slots going side to side. How is that going to adjust the gear mesh? I would think you need them going up and down.

I think I se how the motor adjustment will work, much like the revo motor mount does, only the motor is placed higher up offering less overall adjustment. Looks alot like this:
http://picasaweb.google.com/buikpijn/RevoCenterdiff I would suggest something abit more like that too, adjustment wise. Good effort though, its big thing to tackle building something like that. |
I have a RC mount and the slots go side to side, I figured they were like that for a reason ? Not really sure till I get the diff and spur to see where they need to be.
I have been on ebay since 1999 . Auctions end when there done and no amount of bidding before the end can change that . I have as much right to bid on an item for a e-revo as anyone else on this board . If I know, you "or anyone else on this board" was actively bidding on an item then no, I would not bid against them. I do have morals . If you want to win an item, then you have to have the highest bid, no matter when it gets there . Jerry |
suicideneil , thanks for the link !! Thats one I didnt see yet. I dont have the diff or spur gear yet, so this was just kinda a prototype . I made it at work today to see how it would look and fit. I will make another with the holes up and down. if I need more adjustment . Jerry

I wasnt bustin on ya.... I agree. All I was asying is if you are bidding on something like that the chances are good that there is another member here interested in it. I am might be what some consider a snipper on ebay too. Whats the point of running it up while the auction is still days, hours minutes away from ending. There are morons out there that would just out bid anything you bid. I'm think the site would be better if it would offer blind bidding. Everyone who is interested would place their bid and nobody would be able to see what is bid on or how many bids there were. In the end it would just go to the person with the highest offer. That would take the snipper effect out and draw the best prices for the items. It would also keep people from just trolling for underpriced auctions sniping them and turning around and just reselling them for what they are really worth. |
Well ebay is going to make everyone snipers . They now have a beta program called countdown that allows you to watch the countdown to the end without refreshing anymore.
Myself ,I simply research the item, see what the going rate is, figure out what the max I'm willing to pay is and wait till the end . If the price is over what my max is, I dont bid . If it is under my max, I stick a bid in with a few seconds to go and hope for the best. Sometimes I get a bid in with 3 seconds left and find that 5 other people got bids in too !!!!! And I have missed too when my computer took an extra few seconds to load the page !!! DOH !!! I've also seen 2 morons bid something way up on the first day bidding against each other to be highest and niether winning at the end . |

Q. Its hard to tell from the pics, but is there a little lip or narrowing on each piece to prevent the bearings from just sliding out?
I like the motor support feature, clever thinking- just needs to be height adjustable with shims or washers, buts thats simple enough. |
There are no lips as of yet . This one is really just a prototype to get my ideas figured out. I just got my drill press set up to do some minor milling so the next one will have a lip on the outside to stop the bearings. These holes I had to use a dremel sanding drum just to get them to size lol .
Heres a new pic of the rear support , the second one I do will be a 2 piece , basically the bottom half mounts solid and the top half with adjusting slots just like a motor mount. Now I can mill half of each so it will still look like one piece ! Sometimes I just work on stuff at lunchtime at work to see what I can come up with and sort it out later.
