i'm going to go on a limb here and say that won't be enough. just compairing my two setups i have. i've only metered my lsp which made just over 2hp running a hacker c50 L and compairing that to my emaxx running a kb45 on same voltage you're going after. the emaxx's power feels roughly twice as violent. its got to be putting out over 3hp. i notice a significant difference with lower capacity batteries on same voltage. its like i set a 50% training mode on the esc. and that setup is enough to heat up my mgm160, so i'm pretty sure i'm exceeding its amp ratings.

edit:
i miss read. i'm running 1/2 voltage as you'll be running, but still 44amps seems low.

Yeah, I really need to buy some better batteries. Most of my lower kv motors are around 1200kv, so a pair of 4s packs for 8s total would be optimum. That way I can run the motors around 35k rpm. 9s would be just right, but I do not like having different size packs, if only for asthetic reasons.

Thinking a pair of flightpower 4s 25c packs, but what size? Maybe the 3300, 0r 3700? The 3300 should be good for about 3hp, and the 3700 around 3.5hp. Whatcha think?

Gotta love those lower KV motors.... . all of my motors now are anywhere from 700 - 1500... I like 1000KV.. seems to be my favourite...

PiStix

I'm assuming that the pixstix thingy goes between the throttle channel and the speed control?

Yup, it alters the signal that the receiver produces to match what an air system makes. That tricks the esc to work correctly.

I talked to the Fine Design guys and I asked what him about my setup which was a CC phoenix 125 and a 7xl feriago motor.. he didn't recommend using unless i wanted to stick with 3s. I don't know much about this eletric stuff, it all confuses me so I am going to stick with his conversion..

He said there motors were special wrapped for them if I remember right..

aqwut 04.02.2008 11:33 PM

the 7XL works awesome on 4S...

lucias 04.02.2008 11:34 PM

With what speed controller?

lincpimp 04.03.2008 12:21 AM

The 7xl and phoenix 125 will work fine on 4s. Just make sure that your batteries can deliver at least 100-110 amps constant. Something like a 5000 25c flightpower pack would be great for that motor/esc.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but is the V-Balancer required to balance a flightpower pack? Can I just use my LBA10 balancer? Is there an adapter of some sort needed?

Here is the adapter: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/18243

Works great and plugs directly into the lba 10. I modded mine to work with my lba 6. Nicely made, I have the other types to use align and a multi board of hyperion taps. Nice cause there is no need to keep track of loose adapter harnesses.

Perfect!! Thanks linc!!

You are very welcome, cheap battery packs may sell that too, as I now see that amain is out of stock.

do trak power and thunder power batteries use the same balance connector? they both use the v-balance thingy

_paralyzed_ 04.03.2008 01:10 AM

edit: "thingy" is a often unheard technical term used to describe the subject at hand, I realize with my high school dropout background my terminology is often over the head of the laman, and for that, I apologize
