Alight, heres a good looking pack

http://www.b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=ab_H800

20C, but the MAH is only 800, so I could do this

6,000 KV motor on 800MAH 3s lipo

Or a 7,300, or 9,000 KV motor with a 2s lipo, and hook them up in series, so its 1600MAH

What sounds like a better deal? I need the run time, but 60 bucks for two 3s packs is insane!

I use the TP2000 3s in my MLST with a 7000kv motor. Loads of fun. That battery has held up great for 2 years as well. Worth every penny IMO. Is that battery too large for your app ? If so, i'd go with the TP 1320. 800mAh seems kinda small. If you did them up 2p though, you'd have 1600, which would be decent.

Yes, I need a batt thats around 31mm wide, the hyperion is 34, but thats not bad

Only thing is, is 2p will be for 2s since I highly dont think the bottom deck to the top is over 20mm, so I will probably have to shim the top deck, but thats no problem

I use this in my 1/18th rides:

Its a little longer than what you are asking for, but very close. If that is too long, then try this:

Out of curiosity.... will your track allow 3s? Are you going to be running with other 18R's or trying to race in a 1/10th class with your 18R?

I like the look of the new novak motors, but the kv ranges have me worried. The kv's seem way too high for actual 1/18th sized tracks. I'm currently running a Hacker 4200kv motor in my rc18r, and its plenty for a normal sized 1/18th track. People try to run mamba 8000kv's on the track and they are all over the place. You know a noob has shown up when he busts out the 8000kv motor for a track that only has a 25 foot straight...

BlackedOutREVO 04.16.2008 06:52 PM

Those look good, but a bit to wide, im really looking for a short narrow pack, I dont mind buying 2 of those hyperion packs and wiring them in 2P.. But a good choice for sure!

When I race, it will be with 6 cells and a stock 18R motor, this is to have some cheap fun with while my TC is charging. I race 10.5 or MOD sedan, so no on the racing 18R with them lol

I love the range of KV, My back straight is 164 ft!!!! Y E A H ! NEED motor lol my track is darn big, and theres a perfect sweeper at the end of the straight, so motor is def needed, and with the mongoose being a 380 can, it should be a torquey motor, So im hoping I can gear it pretty high, in case I need more speed

rschoi_75 04.16.2008 07:52 PM

Ok, that makes sense.

How about this one. Its pretty narrow:

BlackedOutREVO 04.16.2008 09:40 PM

Man, how do you know of all these LOL?

I like that pack! Id run that in 1P, so I think id do 3s, its illegal any way with lipos, so might as well have a efficient system right?

I think I might try those out! Thanks!

rschoi is the king of 1/18th scale from what I've read ...

BlackedOutREVO 04.16.2008 10:24 PM

Unless neu make a small high powered motor!

Neu 1100 series are pretty close to 280 size - theyre 29mm diam. I was thinking of getting an 1107/1.5Y for my MLST2, and maybe an 1105 for the mini-t.

Probably wont have a whole lot of room for the gearing with a big motor like that though, and thats assuming the motor holes line up the same.

With the 54T spur, the smalled I can fit with the Mega ACn16 is a 27T pinion. I didn't try my Neu 1107, but you can try a 29T or 30T pinion.

What about this one: http://www.rcmodelland.com/index.php...at0=15&lang=en

I have a 3S 2900mAh from them (They don't carry that anymore) and it is pretty good. Now I have a 3S 1600mAh from Kong Power and it is pretty small and can fit an 18R. The only problem is that Kong Power doesn't list them anymore in their site and Air Thunder has them, but only is 2S http://www.airthunder.com/1600mah74v...tterypack.aspx.

The 11xx series of Neu motors has 16mm mounting holes, so they'll line up just right.

Also, FWIW, an 1105 would be way overkill in a Mini-T. It's not too hard to even run a Mamba motor in a Mini-T without temp issues. Heck, I've run a Mamba 6800 in my RC18T without temp issues...gearing is a huge factor with those little motors.
