I also have a Novak HV Maxx 4.5 that I am playing with. It may not be great. but it seems to work fairly well for the price:intello:. I am waiting on a Monster Pro 125B right now that I just purchased form someone on here, and I like a lot of others on here am waiting patiently for the MMM to put in my last project now in production:diablo:. I just have to figure out and come up with a couple of good motors for testing. I am considering a Mega motor 30 series for one, and a 1515.1Y(or similar) for the other one. I am sure that it will take some testing and practice on my part before I am happy with any of them:lol:. Have you tried the Dewalt 970 motors?:lol:

I tried all the big brushed motors. 775's, 820's, 970's etc. The best was the dewalt 820 motor it has replaceable brushes and was by far the most powerful. The 970 motors are johnson motors not dewalt. The 970's suck.

i tried dual 970's with tekin 420f speed controls at 18 volts a piece, the weight of motors and 30 cells was just too much, even with the speed controls paralleled and only 15 cells it wasn't very impressive. My first hv-maxx (6.5) blew it away. Sell 'em on e-bay. For a shelf queen they look real impressive all polished up, but for running, nothing beats brushless

You got the 18.97kwfs strapped the to the motors??

Does that not make them run very hot? The controllers that is, id be worried of damaging the controllers.

I've never run a truck anywhere near as heavy/powerful as that beast, but i would love the centre diff option, it would seem to me ( assuming i understand the mechanics of a centre diff ) it would make the power so much more usable.

Im really surprised so noone has developed one for the maxx.

Mike has the center slipperential (coming soon), and a center diff option for the FLM chassis, and hopefully Gmaxx chassis too sooner or later.

i thought ot might be too hot also...so for neither motor has heated at all...they are always pretty cool to the touch!!...i will check the temp after next session!...i have to install the new output shaft tonight...FUN,FUN!

I dont think I ever saw it written down in this or the other thread- what gearing do you run on those 2x 12 cell systems?

18 tooth PLETTENGERG pinion,66tooth Kippster Racing slipper and spur gear,Strobe Sprong...great in first and second gear!!!!...Oh yeah...ULTRAMAXXED GEN4 aluminum trani gears!I have close-ups for later tonight!

Hmm, thats fairly conservative, but if it gives excellent speed and cool temps, thats all that matters.

I would go with the hardened steel if you got something custom made. If im not mistaken its alot stronger than Ti under rotational stresses.

Yep, pile of cack by all accounts I've seen in the past. You'd be better served with a GPS unit such as the bicycle or hiking units sold by Garmin (E-trex?).
