you guys actually drive your r/cs? Mine are constantly "in the shop". I have no feeling in my hands so in doing repair I get stuck on one stupid thing and need to wait for hands to come by. When I drive them I just can't help but beat them until they break, and the cycle starts over. I've been on this forum a couple years now and am yet to post a good build, but my flm super cybermaxx is almost done, just you wait................

Paralyzed, sorry to hear about your hands, that must pose some issues working with small parts.
I have broken quite a few parts, but have found that the revo seems to hold up better than a maxx. 1/8 scale stuff, especially the buggies, seem to be the strongest rc vehicles. I do not break much anymore, I must be a better driver! |
Well put Jerry! I for one have yet to find a elec. out there that wont break under the extreme power of BL. The only way I have stoped spending $$$ on trannys and such is to convert a nitro to BL. They seem to be built a little stronger. You just cant find a 1/10 scale that can take a beating like a 1/8 conversion!!!
T-Maxx you must beat the crap out of yours? I know I beat the crap out of mine! Anyway I'm not bashin you just my Truck. I feel BL conversion is the way to go. Or until they can make somthing off the shelf that can take it. But that would be NO FUN HUH???? |
They will never make something off the shelf that can take it. That would be bad for profits. It sucks but I always end up going home with something broken too. I barely ever crash into things (a few exceptions) but something still always manages to break. I must admit though that my cars are becoming more bullet proof but they aren't there yet. We always have a laugh when we go out bashing as to what breaks first. The Traxxas stampede, Hpi Savage or Losi LST. The Mini-t and MLST2 are in there as well but are normally driven at different times.

I'm workin on that bullet proof thing also. I dont think I'm there yet!!! But Dang It sure is fun gettin there!
Do I like Breakin Down? NO!!! Do I like Fixin It? Kinda!!! Do I like Seein how far I can go before it Breaks? Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I figure workin on my rig is just part of it. Thats why you have to have multiple rigs to Bash. So you can work on several at a time. :) |
if i understood the first post correctly it was not just about the 'breaking' of parts but also the timing aspect that it happens right when you are about to finish anyway.
things break from time to time that just happens if you are bashing your rigs like they 'deserve' it. as for the timing aspect my feeling is that this may be due to two connecting factors. first off you start to do the more crazy stuff not right in the beginning when you just put all your stuff into place and got ready to run but wait until you have several battries through. and secondly maybe its just the concentration that fades away after some hours (and e.g. some beers later). at least for me its quite like that. the sun is setting ... and you have this one battery left and the ramp is still there....just one more time... full speed - jump .... crash. there you go and have something to fix again. byer rhylsadar |
Unfortunatly.
Unfortunatly I think we all fall under that spell when the day is comming to a close and we begin to think that it may be another week or so before we get to do it again. It is hard to bypass the idea of trying at least one more thing that may be a little over the top from our normal routine. Then Blamo*&#$, broken truck. Good point rhylsadar.
Still once again if you think for one minute that you are going to run your vehicle bashing or racing and just not have breakdowns, then you are fooling yourself. This hobby is just one of the situations where you have to have spare parts on hand and expect to have issues of some kind. Our vehicles are very much like the Pro Bajha trucks that require constant repairs due to the punishment we place on them. |
