ahhh... hi AMP, so i guess that rules out the Phoenix ESC's. I think they're only rated upto 140 amp bursts (Phoenix-110) That MGM you linked to would do the job.

yes, the drivetrain would be the problem, especially on a maxx, i'm thinking the slipper and the input/output shafts would be the hardest hit. What parts are you breaking with the 1521 Lutach?

Are Flightpower cells the same as NeuEnergy cells, both Enerland??

So far I have gone through a couple spur gears and internal diff gears (spider gears). I will soon have to get diff ring and pinion. I have to see if Bomb-Proof Products still have center drive shafts for my truck and will also have to get more drive cups. If you get the 1527/1D, go with the MGM 22418 and the highest capacity 30C Enerland cells (Yes, Flightpower or NeuEnergy) and it would be nice to get them 2 packs in parallel. I think 4S will be a better choice for the 1527/1D, 5S will be insane and 6S will make your bank account go empty from buying parts for your truck :lol:.

what diffs are you running at the moment in your truck Lutach, please don't say 8 spiders :lol: Yeh, the drive cups would get pretty ripped up as well wouldn't they with that kind of torque.

Stepping down to 5s might also be an option if i was to go the 1527...

As if my bank account won't already be empty from even getting this setup!!! :rofl:

I had the Hot Bodies Buggy diffs in the truck, but I bought some aluminum diff case and I put the truggy diffs back in and no they are not the 8 gear spiders. My drive cups are a mess and I'm going to run a few more times before I change them.

I can see how you think we're talking about a 1/8th buggy to put this much power in. But... er, its intended for a 1/10th E-maxx, or should i say UeG-maxx :oh: :whistle: :lol:

with the 1527/1D (2300kv) the theoretical motor rpms on 6s will be 51060. Is that too high? Will it lead to heating issues? I doubt it will even be able to reach max rpms without flipping or breaking something though... :yipi:

I'm happy with below 40K rpm and when I brought my truck from 6S down to 5S, the motor actually pulled less AMPs. When I tried the motor with 10S, it pulled 169A. I ran it for over 8 minutes with 10S and the ESC wasn't hot, but the motor got a little hot, but not too hot that it would burn my finger. I would choose one of the following for 6S:

1527/1.5D 1500Kv
1521/1Y 1577Kv

so im looking at ESC's that would be able to handle this setup, and the MGM 22418 will do the trick.

Any thoughts on the CC Hydra 240, upto 240 amps and 6s lipo? Would it work in a truck even though its a marine ESC?

What about the CC Phoenix-180, or on the Neu website, the Castle Creations Super 180 F5B controller. 180 amps constant and upto 6s lipo.

I'm not too sure how these would work, as one is for marine, and one for planes. Has anyone had experience using these types of controllers on a truck? Would i lose brakes and reverse?

you'll have 0 or 100% brakes, and no reverse...
