Here's my ESC wired & powering the controller.

99% wired up, just need female bullets to connect motor.

Used my RC18 pack to power it up to play.

I love this new technology.

KaztheMinotaur 05.10.2008 10:01 AM

Very nice.

Where did you get it? What is the continuous amp rating?

TexasSP 05.10.2008 10:46 AM

That's a very nice looking controller, with some nice huge caps. I would think this would be pretty smooth. It will be nice to see if quark has worked out their previous issues which kept me away from buying one.

This is gonna make one hell of a nice looking truck!

The guy, Aiden, from Ark was using the Monster Pro before & had some issues with it & then this was released.
120amps
upto 6s with an inbuilt BEC
Hand controller

He sponsors onroad racers & was saying that they went to Asia in 40c weather everyone's ESC's had thermalling issues except this one.

He was using it in a Losi 8 buggy at our local track running 6s & a Neu 1515/1Y/S, it was freakishly fast on a hot 37c day & had no issues till his steering servo decided to stop.

Yeah, it'll be nice when I can get off my ass & get the mount machined, I have the metal & the plans, but, no time.

ESC Specs
Input Voltage
Ni-MH 4-18 cell, Lithium 1-6 cell

Brushed 0.00012ohms

Weight

I am curious to see how it will compare to the MMM. They both can do the same voltage and both are very adjustable.

asianplayer 05.11.2008 02:22 AM

Yes im am also very curious, I was planning on using a quark 125b on my lst conversion, but this looks rather tempting to get instead, i just wonder how well it will fair with teh added weight, make sure to keep us posted on how it works.

Mozzy 05.11.2008 05:34 AM

Will do.

I also have two MMM's on their way for my truggy & buggy.

Yeah, they're both very adjustable, but, the Quark has the handheld unit which IMO is much easier to take to the track. I don't have a laptop & my extension cord doesn't reach that far.

So, it was a logical choice for me.

I don't believe the weight will be an issue as it has virtually the same specs as the Monster Pro.
Eh, have to wait & see.

Mozzy 05.12.2008 12:54 PM

All mounted & wired up. It runs!! But no drive as I STILL don't have the mount made.

So bloody busy.

Looks nice & low.

See Mike, the brake pads foul on the Neu motor. Oh well.

I'm running a stock 46T spur. What pinion should I use 15-16-17-18-19-20? Not sure.

Mozzy 11.12.2010 07:58 PM

Hey guy's, it's been quite a while since I've been here & I thought I'd show my BLST as it stands today.

All the above plans went AWOL.

After 4 girlfriends, a serious operation to remove a 4inch blood clot from my right lung which I now need a transplant & a trip to India in Feb this year, I have finally finished my BLST as of 2 days ago!!

Enjoy the crappy pics.

The Quark was tested & blew up twice, it's now where it belongs (in a 1/10 car), the Feigao also went poof & it now holds a Mamba 1717 1Y 1580kv on 6S. Only tested on 4S so far with great flipping results. 2 Speed adapter from Losi is used with the standard 2speed trans & 8man +4 pinions.

UPDATE!!
Got the new XT60 plugs today.
Soldered them on & went for a blast on 6S.

It's too fast to shoot footage while driving. So, video to come, plus(!) I'm going to try get some video footage driving on the freeway for a real speed test the way it should be done!!

Nice setup.
Can you give more details on the 2 speed adapter please?
Any pictures of this or the pinion/spur with cover removed?

Thanks
Brow

Mozzy 11.15.2010 04:57 PM

Thanks.

I don't have time this morning to take a pic as I'm taking my truck to work at RC Garage today.

Here's the part I bought.

Brow 11.16.2010 05:24 AM

Thanks Mozzy. Now what pinions fit this adapter?
Do you know if it is the same as Mikes?

Mozzy 11.16.2010 08:36 AM

There's a guy that makes hardened pinions for the LST.
He calls his pinions 8man or something like that.

I haven't bought anything off him in quite a while & can't remember the details. Google?

I have no idea if it's the same as Mikes. Can you get a pic of his & compare the two side by side?

Anyway, here's a couple more pics. The last one happened today driving extremely sedately on a 1/10 off-road track.
I'm changing the TiNi gears for the plastic version as they have more biting surface area & don't concentrate the load on one narrow point, plus, it will hopefully be quieter.

Mozzy 01.09.2011 09:20 PM

Ok, here we go again!!

I broke the front bulk head again!!
I think cart wheels is what causes that! lol

Here's a short video of my BLST on the beach with paddles.

I recommend this for everyone EXCEPT(!!) stay away from wet sand as it sticks to everything!!

Apologies fro the wind noise.
