I have been told you can get it to arm without one, though I have never tried as I always use my pistix adaptor.

Boogie.... if you do 6S and the 1200KV KB45 motor, it would run cool... and not draw too many amps..

But I dont think at 26,000 rpm its going to be fast enof? I ran my kb45 8XL on 4s which is 25,000 rpm and while it was WAAAY more driveable it wasnt really all that fast on the top end. Maybe I could try gearing it up though...

To be honest I am going back to my 4s and feigao 7XL setup for the races on Tuesday. It was plenty fast, much faster than any nitro motor I have seen and temps werent that bad. The only thing I dont like about that setup is I will have to have two 4s battery's because the run time isnt all that great, maybe around 10min. Which really isnt a huge problem for racing at our club because races are only 5min long and there is just one heat and one feature race per division. So as long as I bring my charger along I will be in fine shape, I just wont be able to do much for practice runs.

I will have to experiment with some more setup's when my mamba monster comes in as I would like to have the speed and drive-ability of my 4s 7XL setup with the long runtimes of the 6s setup.

On second thought...

I just checked out the speed calculator, the kb 8XL should kick butt if I gear up on just 4s. The kb motor seems to be much more efficient compared to the feigao from some of the comparisons that I have done so far on 4s.

Yeah, I'm very happy with the KB motors... they stay nice and cool for me.. and just tonnes of power for $50...

The more the better. I've seen 4760 watts out of my 40.160, 1521/1Y and10S lipos.

it doesn't work for me without the pistix...
I use the pistix, and after calibration, I have no delays... Maybe that's why people are having delay issues, the ones that aren't using pistix?...

I test the KB45 on my MGT with 1000KV motor on 6S and 8S.. really smooth controls, weather slow or fast.. no cogging issues either... on 8S, MGT pushed agains the wall, I got only up to 60Amps.. and fast acceleration, I got about 85A Peaks... so this motor is just crazy powerful and cheap...
