Speedybl, what is your runtime with the 3s 3200mah pack?

junkman 05.14.2008 12:30 PM

I just got my turmoil going this week, and have been running it with a 7xl, 3s 4000mah hecell's. Thats the only bats I have at the moment. I have not ran a whole pack through it to voltage cut, but ran it for 10 min yesterday, most of which were wide open runs back and forth across the yard in about 3 1/2" grass. The pack was warm, esc was cool, motor was not hot, but pretty warm. Pack took 2300mah of charge. I am really pretty impressed on how it runs on 3s. I first had a 9xl, the largest pinion I have was a 15, and it was a dog, so I thought I'd try the 7xl, much better. Hope this helps.

i ended up ditching the plans on trying 3s in a buggy, now ive bought a Truggy and 5s already.

Speedbl do you have a video or anypics of that eight id still like to see it.

I am still going for it, the goal is 6 pounds RTR, 6s 2500mah lipos and a neu 1509.

rootar 05.18.2008 01:08 AM

wow 6 lbs is stretching dont ya think? 6.5 sounds like a better goal and anything under that would be too much i would think, you gotta have to have enough weight for decent traction dont ya?

everyone thats doing these keep us updated id like to see how light they can get.

I am going to use a Futaba S9551 low profile servo, it saves a good .5 oz and still makes 136 oz-in, some lunsford titanium, and some 7075 screws and nuts that I will put in select areas, carbon fiber battery mount, the battery I am going to use is about 400grams, I will keep my wiring to a minumum. I could get titanium turnbuckles and hingepins, keep the paint job thin. I cant think of anything else special to try.
