I now upped the timing from 0(lowest) to 15(high). I didnt run it much, but from what I could tell, the ESC cooled down drastically. Power is great, very responsive. Id say it feels about perfect for the RC8. I will see how it does on a track next.

Seems like the higher pole count motors like higher timing. Glad it is working well for you!

I have an axi outrunner that I need to pair up with a mm in my 10th scale direct to diff truck. From what I have heard the new firmware really makes a big difference with outrunners.

The higher pole count motors do indeed like higher timing. The entire "higher timing, higher heat" thing doesn't really apply that much to them IMO.
