Man i hope my MMM doesnt turn out like that. I have an 8xl and while it gets the job done as soon as i get some extra cash i am buying a neu. There is now getting around it.
Brian -
i have friends that ask all sorts of silly questions and 9/10 it can be answered with your R/C Calculations. It gets annoying.

Oh I agree with that and what BrianG said as well, unfortunately it doesn't stop the morons from buying them. The fluid rules are real nice too, like which manufacturers they will allow to support their own products and which they won't. I also got warning points for a post I had made two years prior with "LMAO" in it. When I questioned the moderator on it he told me to stop sending him messages.

The posts that really got me annoyed though were the ones suggesting how great a single vxl setup was in an emaxx. My only real concerns were not so much the people doing it but the people that would actually follow Q and put it their trucks then have it fail on them.

Macrow, I also was not referring to legitimate setups like you have posted. I would definitely file yours under the crap happens category.

Anyway, there are plenty of other forums full of idiots as well cough "rcuniverse" cough.

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.20.2008 05:39 PM

Damn, that MMM looks pretty much well done

Traxxas forum = epic fail.

Im trying my best over there to educate people, but still the same old questions pop-up, and still people just appear with a "please list all the best motors/esc/batteries/etc" thread because they are too lazy and/or stupid to do their own research.

Then again, it is fun playing God to a bunch of noobs....

If you are their God then the world is really in trouble Neil! :diablo:

Boys, don't get your panties in a bunch. These are indeed just kids toys. Nothing serious about them. Traxxas is a huge, popular name brand. Thus many kids buy them, thus all the noob questions. It's because they are young and new to the hobby. It's really a kids hobby. Oh and I don't use those speed calculators, they are not worth a "crap".

Wise words triggeraa..there's alot of kids buying these trucks also and there just trying to learn (arnt we all?)...I know it gets old hearing the same old questions over and over again...hell i'm guilty of it many times myself and i'm far from being a kid......just turned 60 in April...i'll never grow up

I was running my truggy in the street today showing a mate & I actually got the motor, speedy & battery to warm up.

Normally, it'd just be the motor & battery. I hope I'm not in for a failure as well.

Also, I emailed CC about the BEC adjustability in the MMM & have not heard boo from them, not even a "We have received your email & will be in touch shortly." email.

What the?

I emailed Castle a few days ago and I don't think I got one of those we received your email, emails. It took them 3 days to reply but remember they would be receiving so many emails at the moment

Yeah, good point.

I can vouch for Neil.. At Traxxas he is a GOD.. (What kind of world is this)??:lol::lol::lol:

But for what it worth, I met, learned, and soaked-up everything from guys like (Neil, Dicky-T, Jordan and others). They encouraged me and others to be all that we could be and more, it's the few who actually understood what they were providing (a strong foundation to build off) So it does pay off for the newbie’s... Thanks gentlemen for never giving up on the Nobodies, for without you I would be here myself....Sniff, sniff:oops::smile:.. Haaaa haaa…:yipi:

I am sure BrianG will be glad to know you think his speed calculator is "crap". It's a valuable tool that states it may not be 100% accurate due to other factors but works better than anything else out there. Maybe you should think before offering blanket statements that cut down the hard work of people on this forum.

Walmart R/C is the kids hobby R/C. And there is a difference between noob questions and moronically common sense questions. Ex. a kid submerges his new traxxas in a lake and wonders why it doesn't work anymore. I don't care how old you are you should no electricity and water don't mix. And as far as the speed calculations, they have been just about on the money. It is called physics. Not trying to rock your boat just expressing my feelings.

That was exactly my point. No one likes to be crapped on no matter what the skill level. If you don't want to help out the noobs then do not post on their threads. I know Brian developed the speed calculator. I was being sarcastic to make a point. I know the calculator works great. Neil, while I know get annoyed at the beginers never the less is patient, witty and takes time to help out and explain/recommend solutions. He is an asset to both forums. All I'm saying is that everyone was a noob at one time and you need to can the holier than thous attitudes. If you look at some of the elitist wanna be experts on any of the forums and search their earlier posts you will find that they have learned a lot and asked their share of stupid questions.
