You could just get a glitchbuster.... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNRE0&P=WR

This works nice on MM too for 4s stability http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKKN3&P=M

one thing to check before you send it in is your solder joints, if you soldered it with a 40 + watt iron you should be ok, and then it needs to be sent into castle

Steve Krug 06.10.2008 10:05 PM

Thanks eric!, will send it in later this week when i have time.

Anyways my parts came yesterday, installed them VERY LATE last night, and I did a slight test run today:)

PICS!!!:(Will get video this weekend most likely, and hopefully.)

(NOTE ENTJOLES'S MOTOR HEAT SINK CLAMP!)

I just need a battery mount now, been zip tying the lipos to the chassis through the flywheel hole. The screws that keep the mud guards on sheared through my heat wrap on the lower lipo, not good. Put a nice dent in the lipo in the process.

One slight problem though.
Even when running the receiver pack, I am experiencing the truck going "out of range" despite the fact that the truck isn't anymore than 100ft away. This worries me, not sure if it is the receiver, (probably is) but it's a problem. I got the receiver along with my DX2 a few years back and have been switching it between all my cars since. I guess it has finally died? Hm...i'll have to rob the hobby shop for a new spekky receiver soon LOL.

Even when just testing the setup in my small backyard and street, I am BLOWN AWAY, by the torque and speed it pushes out. Keep in mind i'm only running 4S and a Feigao 8XL. Now I couldn't even IMAGINE the amount of power those Neu's and 6S lipos are putting out...Compared to my V-Spec, i'd say there is a 30% power increase...NO KIDDING!
Already very happy as you can see....everybody should run BL...

Arct1k 06.10.2008 10:16 PM

Be careful those battery leads are very long with that Y adapter. CC says no more than 12" without extra caps.

Steve Krug 06.10.2008 10:26 PM

Just measured it and it is about 7 1/2 inches. I think it'll be fine but i'll definatly shorten up those battery wires.

The MM is running very nice and cool by the way, only about 105 was the highest temp I got.

entjoles 06.10.2008 11:33 PM

looking good

glad its running, The best thing about brushless is that its not nitro!

Steve Krug 06.11.2008 04:25 PM

Haha....thats for sure. No tuning, it feels great. I'm also not waking up the neighbors.

entjoles, according to your sig you run a 5S with your MM? What mods do you exactly do to the speedo? Do you just run caps, fan, receiver pack?

jnev 06.11.2008 06:14 PM

What you mentioned is really all you need to do to the MM steve. However, the newer MM's don't seem to like 5s very much. The older one's (I think they had higher quality or more FET's... not 100% sure though) were able to run 5s pretty well.

The MBX is looking great btw.

Steve Krug 06.11.2008 06:19 PM

Well i'll just be running 4S now until I can get a MMM, then i'll be running 5S most likely.
Thanks for all the help people.

Well I just noticed something.

After taking the truck out for a run (ESC has a 4S or 12V cutoff btw) I temped everything and the batts were 120, ESC 140, motor 140. Not bad? I didn't think so.

I stopped running after about 10 minutes, way before the voltage cutoff would have come on. Usually get about 20 minutes of runtime (approx.)

And then the next day I was going to charge up the batteries when suddenly I noticed the packs looked a little "bigger" than usual. I picked one up and set it on the table and it sounded funny, like it was hallow. I pressed down on the center and it felt crunchy. Great, like I need this to deal with also:diablo:No running until late august now until i get new lipos now i guess.
(They are Maxamps packs BTW....)

Does this stuff happen to any of you guys? Never had a lipo fail like this before, expecially since I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I didn't treat these any differently than i've ever treated any other lipos and I have never had any problems up until now...

jayjay283 06.18.2008 08:26 PM

sorry man that blows, never happened to me but I do ponder that scenario in my thoughts of what my lipos are doing while im sleeping lol.. I need to get an ammo box

jnev 06.19.2008 12:50 AM

You will notice after reading on the forum for a little longer that many people here REALLY don't like Max Amps. There are tons and tons of puffed Max Amps packs that occurred throughout the forum. Hopefully lincpimp will chime in as I know he has killed quite a few.

BlackedOutREVO 06.19.2008 01:04 AM

I would say 85% of the people here DONT like max amps (sorry if you do), why? Because of this prob LOL, they over rate, and over price the packs (sounds familiar? rcbros......) And I know lots of people here will agree with me, especially when tru rc packs are cheaper, and work better. Do you get why I always said this now?

How ever, that sucks, puffing lipos is never fun, but a excuse to upgrade to 5s?:na::lol::party::whistle::mdr::yipi::gasp:

Steve Krug 06.19.2008 11:02 PM

Man...I only thought they were that good until this happened. Don't get me wrong they are GREAT packs, I tried the exact same tru rc pack and compared the two. I thought the maxamps pack did have slightly better punch and power, but now? Just pissed. I payed $140 for those two 4000hv 2S lipos, and i've only had them for about 5 Mo. and they poop on my truck. Not what I need right now.

It is an excuse to buy a 5S lipo... :) (and I need a charger)but now I think i'll just have to wait for the MMM, and some cash.

ANYBODY got a MMM they can give up and sell??!?!?
