I have the water cooled version sold by ETTI. Even without a big heat sink, it stayed cool. If only Castle would make a controller using those DPAK instead of the SO8 package MOSFETs. Here is a picture of the MOSFET side of the controller. It was taken by a nice guy from a boat forum.

Why is the ETTI version soooooo much more expensive?

I have no clue . It might be because of the BEC thingy there  or maybe because it's water cooled. I just had to try it out and see if it was any good. I asked the person who sells the ETTI if they will have a car version, but nothing yet.

I have a few of those ESCs in the first post. They don't like to change RPM as fast as a Castle controller, there is a noticeable lag and loss of punchyness IMO. Still work great for the price though.

got any videos to show us how it runs? with the bec disabled and running on 5s would it last a couple months or more until they get the mmm worked out and shipping, we are having a big race in two weeks and i want to run the truggy and not the Ls10 so im getting desperate for a controller.

I got rid of my big one, and I don't have a proper rig for the smaller ones. Sorry!

hi ive got a 100a esc like the one described on a emaxx 16.8 here is the web site http://www.xqcontrol.com/yw%5Fversio...?ActiveNode=12

suicideneil 06.14.2008 06:34 PM

How do you like it:

What are the brakes like on soft or hard mode?
Does it react quickly to changes in throttle input?
Any cogging or stuttering from a standstill?
Does it run cool?
Any noticeable quirks or issues?

Its not a bad option for 5s lipo, apart from the usual suspects.

petewalford17 06.15.2008 02:00 PM

hi the brake in hard mode is like a hand brake soft mode woks more like abs but is a bit sharp but why do u need brakes for i dont know how hot it gets as i have not do any good runs yet and wating for 5000mah lipo 25c it starts of smooth.

but very good for a cheep set up or just for setting up gearing .

suicideneil 06.15.2008 05:24 PM

Brakes are rather handy in a car or truck

Sounds okay, the smooth starts is quite important so thats nice to know.

I looked at one of those ESCs before i got my MM. But with how hot my MM is running in my revo Im tempted to buy one and gueni pig it. but if someone else wants to and let us know thats even better! would the 200A one for $60 be decent? it is a plane one though...
