Good news so far since Dans and Mikes were designed around the same diff mount.
|
Good news Joe , Mikes mount fits just have to put a notch in it so it clears the centre chasssi brace
Have a look at my X2 thread for the pics |
well, i was on the verge of installing my nitro motor so that i can take her out this coming weekend. With 2 emails last week, my plan is back on track. Finally got off my lazy bottom & put the notch into Dan's mount. So, I managed to mount the center diff with Dan's mount. However, I think I may have hit another problem. I am concerned that that silly brace may interfere with the finned motor like the Neu. I tried a finned feigao & it seemed ok but the fg has a smaller diameter. I will know once the Neu turns up together with MMM.

About time you joined the club ,very nice , i like Dans top mount .
My Medusa 1600kv is 36mm and just clears the brace with 14t-15t pinion . Not sure on the Neu finned size and will depend on the pinion as well . What size pinion are you going with ? The larger the further away from the brace the motor will be but then you will have to be running a low kv motor . |
sigh...confirmed that the finned Neu will not fit. Had to relocate the brace to the other side.

You can still bring the brace in closer to the spur , that way you can get the battery tray as close as possible as well .

These pics are already shown in another thread under Castle Creation sub forum but I thought I'll include them here for completeness :

When i receive mine i think i will be selling it and look for another option for the X2 , maybe another R1 Pro . |
Sorry Joe forgot to mention the truggy is looking very nice
What gearing have you gone with ? I have ordered an Upgrade Rc custom skin kit for the X2 which i pick up from the post office tomorrow. When i have the body done i'll post picks in my thread . |
Thanks guys. Brought her out for a brief run yesterday. Too powerful but the run ended prematurely due to motor failure. Thought the esc was stuffed but I think the motor magnet has problems. Already emailed Impakt rc but no response yet. No matter, I got another genuine OEM Neu 1515 2000KV waiting in the wings - looking forward to get my plastic cover from monster mike before I install this motor.
Pity about the esc. The BEC section is putting it down big time. Otherwise, I think the power section is holding up nicely. Had 2 sessions with my revived V1 in the CR buggy & I thrashed it around jumping all the doubles with short run-ups & triples with a blip of the throttle - impossible to do with a nitro engine & so far no problem. Only problem is that it's afraid of water but that's another story... CRTIM, u are too modest. Do show us your build. ffactory666, looking forward to the pics ! Regards, Joe Ling |
