I think that they are including the hing pins now. I don't think they titanium.

the bulks include the needed hingepins, though not in titanium. The titanium isn't necessary with the new design, either, as the hingepoin is now captured in the bulkhead and much less likely to cause trouble.

Does anyone use the aluminum 8 gear diffs sold on ebay? go to ebay and search for supermaxx and it should come up. I already tried to post a link but it wouldnt work sorry. those diffs are pretty much like the ue diffs aye?

do the "SuperMaxx Titanium Center Driveshaft Kit, EXT Electric Chassis" work for the extended g-maxx chassis and a stock length chassis? sorry if its a silly question :P

The ext electirc version will fit the gmaxx ext chassis. If you not worried about the front one be changed out. You can put the one for the front in the back of a stock truck.

I was planning on getting a brushless setup and was wondering if i can use the stock motor mount to mount on the motor, im gonna get one of the feigao L or XL motors. Would this be to heavy for the stock motor mount? Then i thought if i get the g-maxx chassis and get the motor mount with it then it should be alright. But then i saw that fastlane have a chassis aswell and it's only $90 so i would perfer to get that one instead of the g-maxx one. So is it ok to use a L or XL motor on the stock motor mount? is there a stronger motor mount i can get to fit on the stock chassis? or should i just save up some more for the g-maxx one? Sorry if all that is a little confusing, im not that good at trying to explain something lol. |
i would say stock is pretty stong. there is one made by traxxas as well as a few other companies that is the same basic plate its just a little thicker and has slots cut in it for cooling.

One thing you need to know about the FLM chassis, is that it has got a higher CG than the gmaxx. The batteries are a rough 3.5 cm higher, but for a basher, this would be just nice.
the stock motorplate is able to hold the BL motor, but i would make a brace, that holds the motor. The savage diffs don't fit the 1/8th conversion, because of the larger ringgear. (too large in diameter) |
cool i think i'll go with the flm chassis, im a basher so that higher centre of gravity is ok. Im gonna go with the flm 1/8 hybrid bulks with the supermaxx 8 spider diffs.
Mike can you get the flm chassis? I have the money waiting. And would you be able to get the 8 spider diffs please? i dont need them right now, I should have the money in the next month. Thanks |
IMO I think the stock mount is stronger than the gmaxx mount. It is a touch thicker. It is closer to the mounting points as well. The traaxxas one is thicker with groove/fins. Here is a site to look at he traxxas motor plate.

I have the FLM chassis, and will list it for you today. Also, I can get the 8 spider diffs as well. In fact, I may have a set already.
I also agree with CHC, the stock mount is stronger than the g-maxx mount. The g-mxx mount has a nice, low CG, though. I prop the heavier motors up when using it. |
You could use two of the mounting plates from the gmaxx, though the 'weak' point will move to the lower plate.
The stock plate is beefy, it has got more material.. but if you're a basher, i would make a brace that holds the motor. |
Oh cool thanks for the help guys, i thought the g-maxx mount was stronger lol, can you tell im new to this haha. I'll look into making a brace for the motor,i'll ask a guy at my dads work, he has all the machines and tools and stuff.

so this is how my truck will be,
supermaxx 8 spider diffs flm bulkless flm arms integy knuckles mip cvds supermaxx centre dog bones flm chassis aluminum shock tower msr5 piggyback shocks vertigo aluminum skid plates dace adapters this guy i know ( i sold him my savage) I told him i was getting the dace adapters and then he was telling me that i wouldnt need them and if i did have enough torque to strip a hex then my drive train would break and its gonna be so heavy with all the aluminum that i would need ALOT of torque to get it up and moving. So i just told him i'll bet him $50 I can smoke his savage in a 40m drag race, when i finish building my e-maxx, his savage has the stock s-25 engine. so what brushless set up should i get? 8xl/9920? i've got 7cell packs but i'll probably rebuild them and make them 8 cell packs. i'll probably get the brushless set up around xmas time if i find a job in time lol. Your list looks good, but I would advise against the aluminium skids. I heard they (alu skids in general) bend too easy.
For 14 or 16 cells, the 7XL should do fine. And you should have no trouble beating the nitro Savy. Especially in a 40m drag race. If it's a close win, just take him on a track;) DAF |
