I agree with you, though UE isn't overpriced. The machining process is very time consuming, they use a fair price IMO, considering the used type of aluminum, the machining process and design. It might be expensive, but you get a perfect product.

FLM is fair priced. Not the best product you can find, fit wise, but an affordable price makes it up.

RC-monster parts are fair priced too, and a top-notch fit as well.

gmaxx got a little enthusiastic with his prices during his last 'update' (going from g2 to g3) this design is somewhat too simple in my opinion for the price charged.

What really is the difference anyways?

Serum 07.07.2008 11:58 AM

entire design is different.

Comes without skids, no X braces anymore, lower plate is bend (and relative thin, 3/32)

BL_RV0 07.07.2008 12:07 PM

So it's actually a worse buy than the G2R?

Serum 07.07.2008 12:20 PM

Yes, IMO.

it comes without driveshafts and without skids, plus the x-braces where more expensive to produce than the small pipes as used for this design..

I like the older chassis better. It's more robust compared to this one.

but why couldn't you just drill some holes and mount the x braces

Nothing's really reasonably priced anymore though- Only Mike's stuff is fair. GM is one of the most "overpriced for what you get" companies out there, along with UE and others. FLM is also quite reasonable, If it was UE or GM selling the Savage conversion kit, it would be ~$350. Sorry for my little rant, the new GM chassis is cool, but overpriced for what your getting- especially being 6061.

its funny when reading that i kept thinking General Motors

by the end of it i realized GorillaMaxx.

just thought id share my 10 second confusion:lol:

Lol. Compare the G3 and G4 chassis- they are completely different designs, you cant simply drill a few holes and use older parts (no longer backwards compatible). The old chassis has seperate front & rear upper plates tied to the chassis by the X-braces, which the tranny mounts onto. The new chassis has a single 3 dimensional upper deck tied to the battery plate with those short posts. Totally different dimensions allover...
