Neat. Traxxas just keeps rolling the truck out one after another. They must have a serious R&D budget at that place.
Looks like they put small wheels, short arms and a 3.3 in the revo 2.5. I agree. Lets get the e-version out asap. That would be a fun truck to run around the park. |
Be interesting to see what parts you can get off the Slayer and put on the E-REVO (body, wheels etc.)

I waiting to have full size value of the body, build some custom body post and mount it on a XB 808. With the big bore shock it will look killer !
|
Be nice if they'd done something a bit different with it. Using Revo chassis is kind of... boooring. Looks like something any of us could have made ourselves.

Would the Tekno Revo brushless kit work on it?

Looks just like a 2.5 chassis. It has shorter arms, and appears to use the center driveshafts of the 3.3 as wheel driveshafts. The pushrod and steering tierods must be shorter too. The hubs look like std revo pieces. I do like the bumpers, too cool!

I could see this being a candidate for a light weight 3s setup. I like it, keep the awesome suspension, and use shorter arms. This to me is what the slash should have been minus the nitro part. I can see a MM running a 1512 1.5/d on 3s running like a champ or even a 1/d. Be curious to see what the weight is with the shorter arms/shafts/chassis and the smaller wheels/tires. I think there are a lot of possibilities with this truck either way. I can also see lowering this bad boy for a nice on road setup as well.
Edit: Honestly, after looking it over for while, I think this is the vehicle I have been looking for. |

I was thinking a 1509 motor actually. And keep the two speed and mech brakes. Run on 4s for awesome runtimes.

Knew it wouldn't take long or Impakt RC to have it on their site. $469.99

Brian G, a 1509 would be awesome in this truck. I run a 1509/1.5Y on 4s in my Revo (w/ 2 speed) and it's a super fast and light setup. A 1506 may even work for the Slayer. As for weight, figure MT tires are 2lb total. These new tires are probably less than half that (all rotating mass too). The smaller arms, 2.5 chassis, smaller motor and battery and I think we have a ~6lb 4WD truck that will run circles around just about anything. I looked at this some more and I see no reason why the RCM and Tekno kits shouldn't fit. One more thing, I like the scale tires and wheels and all, but buggy tires and wheels are pretty much the same size. Converting to 17mm hubs will allow you to run different tread patterns for racing if needed. Damn this truck is going to be awesome! |
Yeah, one of the downsides (apart from being nitro) is that it has old skool hubs instead of 17mm
