Actually, we've never seen Mike's... We all sat down and thought about it, and came up with what we came up with. I don't know if it is like Mikes or not -- but we sure didn't copy anyone.

I have to say that it seems the best way to do it. I don't see how they copied mikes either. The best way is sometimes just the best way and that's how it works.

Hey Patrick any idea when these kits will be released? I have a Kyosho 777 SP2 that would look great with one of these kits intsalled.:mdr:

Having the batteries mounted off each side of the chassis obviously isn't ideal, but it seems to me that this kit is a stop-gap so that those with nitro buggies (and who might not be too mechanically inclined) can easily convert without having to do any custom work. As soon as factory-design electric 1/8th buggies start appearing on the market, conversion kits will soon disappear.
Think of this like the old truggy conversion kits that you used to be able to buy for buggies.

I don't know that conversion kits will disappear so quikly. There are a lot of nitros out there that will still convert their rides to electric and there will be many nitros still to be sold that will later convert.

Any update on when conversion kits will be available? I am thinking of possible getting a losi 8 again.

thanks

There are some nice CAD drawings of CC conversion kits in media kits:

I like the battery hold-downs .

Sweet, nice find

One thing I noticed with the Losi Kit is that there is no where for the RX/Receiver, well looking at all of them there doesn't seem to be a place on the Kyosho or Jammin either

Looks to me at least on the Losi you could throw the RX at the front let. As for RX battery, I bet CC was assuming the customer would be using the MMM's internal BEC, or a smaller external BEC.

The CC solution has mixed merits - It is perfect for a dual battery setup on 4s which I guess is why the built a 4s buggy motor 1650 1512 1Y. There is a lot of room on the chassis either in the back left or front right - I think you could probably fit everything on the deck.

Not suitable for single pack layouts - Pushes the battery out to the sides which may impact handling and could expose them to some knocks. I hope they are held on by more than 3 screws.

I know it looks a bit like the Hyper RCP design - however nice to see something a bit different - i.e. not being afraid to move the servo.

I will be watching this as I have an x1cr that I would like to run twin packs on and this pod design might actually still fit with an rcm motor mount...

Yea I also noticed the same thing.I am happy with my RCM motor mount and dont plan on changing anything:party::whip::diablo:

How many people do run dual batteries?

Arct1k 09.09.2008 08:17 AM

I didn't before as I have a 4s 5000 Polyquest but now as my local track insists on ROAR packs. ROAR only approves 2s packs.

So what is the deal on these kits? Tower is listing them to arrive in August, (but you know how Tower is with release dates)
