I don't mind my trucks a bit dirty. I clean the parts when I rebuild something. And I'm not really into mudding.

A nice place for teflon (or a teflon cover) would be the skid plates. Would actually skid better when bottoming out.

CHILDREN :p . Why not use armour all or silicone spay on all you plastic parts ?. I do this sometimes and it works great. The dirt is less likly to stick.

I use associated chassis tape om my front skids and bottom of my chassis. I belive it made of teflon.

Teflon, if it is a thick enough layer, is actually quite strong. You can cut it with sharp tools, but it can take a beating from blunt weapons:)
