Hi,
Here is a preview pic of the work in progress motor bracket I am thinking of using for the buggy conversion. Basically, because I want to use the mechanical brake, I have to make an extension shaft so that the motor will not interfere with the rear brake disc. This complicates things a little. that is a lot more manufacturing then the savage motor mount. looks good.
Are you going to be running a 2 speed? is that why you are going to use the mechanical break? and i sent you an email too. |
Hi,
Mechanical brake is just personal preference. Not evenn sure whether it is better or not. Regards, Joe Ling |

Some updates of this project. I have just received the motor mounts in pieces & done a loose fit to see if everything is ok. Here are some pics.

Great work Joeling!! you made it yourself? or was it made by mr constructor? good to see, you used a bearing to hold the long shaft..
|
hi Serum,
Thanks for your comments. I had a local machinist fabricate this for me based on my crude drawings. The bearing used is the type used in nitro engines. I figured that with the extension shaft, I need the extra support at the other end. This was done out of neccessity. I am using 15T pinion & 46T spur. I think this is too tall a gearing. I cannot seem to locate my 14T pinion. So I am trying to get some from Mike. I think I will switch to 13T while I wait for the 14T. What do you think ? Regards, Joe Ling |
