give it a week and a few cycles. that will surely tell you the outcome. if it still works after that, sick, if not then bad luck, and keep the good cells to replace another dud or something.
ryan -i should get my zippy 4800 pack in the next few weeks, does the lipo cutoff work or not?! |
lipo cutoff on the esc was working
|
the cut-off measures total voltage not individual cell voltage so it was still above cutoff but one cell was below 3.0v (i like 3.2v just for this reason) So with a 5s you proly had it at 15.0v correct? I would at least set is to 16.0v to allow each cell more head room.

i had the wrong spur gear on it, the spring was riding on the spur itself, so it spun the nut off when it slipped.. putting the dual plate slipper back on instead of single remedied this Nick, my cutoff was at 15.6 |
yeah that for me is still a little low. Especially on the cheaper packs that dont to seem to hold a balance as well.
|
ill be sure to bump it up when i get the MMM :D
|
yeah just figure 3.2v per cell. Think of it this way.... Better safe than sorry. Besides the run time you will loose by doing it will be very very minimal
|
ah, i also touched up the paint on the 8xl, painted the part where it had been ground :D looks nice
this has got to win the dumbass award http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,404701,00.html |
wow that kid is stupid. how the hell he even get a hold of it in the first place though. I mean come on it is liquid nitrogen, there had to be people at the convention watching the stuff.
|
I think you're probably fine. I've been lower than that and recovered without any long term issues that I could see.
BTW, holding voltage is no indication as to the integrity of the pack. You need to discharge them and see if the cell that went low discharges faster than the others. J. |
