Don't they cost an arm and a leg tho? One time I looked into one of those carpet knife 6v car things for local competition, it was like 250-300 hundred for the esc & motor. Does that sound right or just my LHS?

If Novak is your idea of a brushless system and its more than enough for you, you belong on the other side of the sand box with the droolers and helmet wearers. Back to the Traxxas forums for you !

LOL

"novak is for helmet wearers" hee hee

hemiblas 09.04.2008 05:23 PM

I dont really think the novak stuff is any better or any worst than anyone else. I had a novak brushless motor go bad and I had one of their brushless esc completely melt on me. I have had some MM failures too. Keep in mind they only have a 3 month warranty though vs a year for other manufactures. I think we dont hear about them as much because most people that buy them arent on these forums.

Their systems are also milder in terms of power and this might mean that they theoretically could last longer too. Just a thought.

Honestly unless you want to do high speed runs, where is 47 not fast enough in an Erevo?I'm not sure what you do with yours, whatever you drive, but with mine I do stuff like this http://s531.photobucket.com/albums/d...t=100_0619.flv Now I did enjoy my Medusa on 6s and running about 60,for the 5 minutes the Quark would handle it :) and thats about all I felt was neccasary, since it led to reglueing my tires. As it is the Novak blows the tires off every few runs,so thats enough for me.

jayjay283 09.04.2008 07:15 PM

Im just playing, Seems the new novaks are doing pretty well in the erevos, It wont be moving around my LST2, muggy or aluminum emaxx, and I prefere mine geared for 50mph on 5s which is geared down from the 45mph on 4s but so long as we all have a turd eating grin and empty wallets the wives cant pillage, its all good

I agree with the "Chevy 350" statement. I have an hv 6.5 and it is reliable. And on a small track it's fine.

But my Neu 1512/1.5/D/F with an MMM is a blown nitro fuel injected 454. :whip: :mdr:

TexasSP 09.05.2008 09:43 AM

I think of the HV more like a ford 289. :intello:

Yeah it's a V8 and all, but really, is that that exciting?

REVO-DADDY 09.05.2008 10:12 AM

Maybe I am on the wrong side of the sand box but

I run on a small track, and my system is in a buggy.

My temps are in the low 100's

All high powered mmm's going up in smoke while I tool around

They high powered guys are turning down EPA's because they cannot control there rig!

My system has enough power to pull the front wheels off the ground in a buggy!

I am all about winning races, not youtube videos, not top speed runs, and not bragging rights. I own a .44 magnum, but I carry a 9mm. Why? Because its a better tool for the task......

don't forget the cape, nappy and propeller on the helmet, just to complete the image. Maybe BL_RV0, can dig up a pic

e-mikey 09.05.2008 10:00 PM

yeah, get on your short bus, and take your fisher price "my first brushless" setup with you.

j/k

BL_RV0 09.05.2008 10:18 PM

No...
Novak is for PURPLE helmet wearers... Get it?

Sammus 09.05.2008 10:31 PM

I Like this! I prefer my Glock chambered for .40 S&W Best of both worlds IMO! I have the compact model 27, small enough to not bother me to much when carrying yet packs enough punch to knock down anyone or anything I feel the need to!
