iv had 2 CC BEC's take a shit on me and take about $100 worth of servos. I just decided if another one burns out. Im gonna sell my replacement and buy a different brand.

I think its ridiculous that they wont compensate. Traxxas does.

What about using 2 BECs in series? Maybe set the first one to 6.5v and the 2nd one to 6.0v.

Any thoughts?

Could be ok, just gotta remember each BEC has around a 1v drop-out voltage. So, the first BEC would have to be set for 7-7.2v, and the second set for 6v. Even if this did work, seems kinda expensive to do.

A lot less expensive than fried servos and RXs... :)

True, but still not ideal. The proper solution(s) IMO would be a 2 part process: 1) Find out what is causing the current run of issues and resolve it, and 2) add a disaster circuit that simply cuts power to the output if over 5% (or more) higher than the set value.

My last MMM failure took out a $100 lipo with it. The MMM burned to the ground. There was only a little melted shrink wrap on the lipo but when I stick it on the charger it is dead as a door nail.

I think the MMM's pricing for the masses has forced CC to lower quality, I would rather pay 3-400 for a unstoppable controler or 60 for a perfect bec, but unlike castle, I could care less if brushless goes mainstream.

well i for one will gladly send mine back and pay a little extra to have it updated and fixed for good if thats what it takes to get a reliable MMM....like you say i would rather they charge more and put out a better quality unit
