You can use a Y connector for the ESC and brake or you can just use the 3rd channel of your tx/rx and mix throttle and brake. This is how I set up my revo conversion because I don't like using a Y connector.

yes thats how it is currently setup with the stock traxxas servo but for some reason it doesnt like the 645mg servo which i find strange as from what i understand the stock traxxas is made by hi-tec...??? isnt it? regardless i find it strange and hope my next purchase of a dx3r wont complicate things further.

Futaba and Traxxas servos have a lot of distinct similarities. Anyway, I'm using a Hitec 5955TG servo for steering.

ok now i just noticed this before another packed dirt bashing session. i went to connect my 5s2p 123 cells and it did the usual light show spark then arming chimes went off. i quickly realized the switch was partially in the on position and disconnected the battery. i moved the switch in to the off position then reconnected the battery. then i switched it on and the tones sounded. but no fan initialization...? i took it for a quick test up and down the driveway and worked all fine. i was a bit apprehensive in the bash session and temped the MMM every few minutes and to check the fan was tripping at the right temps. the fan did trip but now the fan doesnt initialize each time it starts. i am hoping it wont quit altogether under load and fry itself. although i understand it does have a thermal cut...right?

cause for concern? maybe a quick castle link reprogram would fix it?

Try a new firmware update. If that doesn't work, better give a quick call to Castle to see whats up. I hope it's not a sign of impending doom. I had an issue some weeks ago whereby I couldn't switch the thingy *off* rather than on. It creeped me out quite a bit, let me tell you. I swear, I'm almost on egg shells with my MMM. It shouldn't be this way :(

i dunno whats going on now. charged up my packs and voila, fan initalizes again on start up. i am not gonna argue. :P
