No problem TDC57.

I wanted to thank everyone for the advice and the offers also. I was looking into the xb8 to see what it was like. Not having any experience with any of the buggies it tooks some time to find out about the differernt makes and model. Sure a lot of them out there. I ended up buying a Losi Eight roller from a RCM member. It showed up at the right time and well I think everyone has heard of the Losi Eight so I didn't have much research to do. I visited one of the LHS over the weekend. None of them had any 1/8 buggies in stock except one Cen Matrix. But at one of the shops that has an indoor track a guy had the new D8 there. He seems to like it a lot. Got rid of his eight and got it. He said it's taking a little time to get use to it but really likes it. Looks like a nice buggy. And honestly that was the first time I've really actually looked at a buggy very close. I'm looking forward to the package showing up.

Thanks again you all.... It's a Pacific Northwest thing "You all"

Yeah, you think I can trust him? Looking forward to getting it. Will have to try my one handed video/driving out again soon.

Mike.L if your asking about the rcpilot seller on e-bay. I never bought from him but may try some of the parts he has listed. He responds to email pretty fast. All though the one request for a picture of the bottom of a buggy got a response that it was unavailable at the moment. The auction was close to being over so I never followed up on the picture.

Hey, Gee:
In your research, what did you find out about Kyosho buggies? There's one over here that I might go pick up tonight. He's asking 100 bucks (supposedly a 777 inferno).

Gee 10.03.2008 09:06 PM

I didn't look into them very far before I found the one for sale here. I did look at the infernos due to having a kyosho truggy. Thought some part might be interchangable. I seemed more focused on the Mugens when I was searching. From the little I read most every that had the 777 were happy with it. Thought it was a good solid performer. Might have been just a bit older then all the new buggies that have been hitting the market lately. I don't thing you could go too wrong for 100 buck unless it's beat to hell. I'd jump on it for 100.

u can find some 5r's for really cheap now since the 6 has came out. last thursday at the track there was some guy selling 5 - 5r's for 150 each and they were really clean. all with custom chassis that were lightened.

Hate to release a video knowing the Battle Tank video could be out anytime now. There goes any chance for an Oscar. Oh well.

I talked my friend into running the camera for me. He did a real good job keeping it on the buggy as it zigged and zagged around. First time he said. Even kept filming after he backed into a rake I had laying against a garage. I put a picture in right before he gets hit so you can’t miss it. The video lost some quality after that. We might have pushed a wrong button on it. Neither of us knows too much about the camera. This may be one of the best chase scenes since Steve McQueen in Bullet. Some of the younger crowd may not recognize the name or movie so Nicholas Cage (Elenor) in Gone in 60 seconds. Here we have the Losi 8ight vs Lil John. My labs are crazy, especially Lil John. Check out the smiles on them when they run through holding the same stick. Crazy! The small one is his mom Amber. He’s a mommas boy that’s for sure.

Anyway welcome to.

Petey Memorial Raceway (RC ORV).
Losi 8ight – MM - 1515 1y /s – 4s – 48/18 (I think)

If anyone is on the fence about jumping into a 1/8th buggy. All I can say is. “Just do it!” These things are tough and a blast to run. I found myself saying the same thing that I said after I found Lipo. What took me so long? Hope you enjoy the low budget video. It’s fun just to watch the dog chase it around and stay long enough to see the camera get shaken by Mr. Rake Handle.

Photobucket would let me upload the video. Gave me a copyright error. I opened accounts on picasaweb and youtube. Looks like you loose a lot of quality not matter which you use.

JThiessen 10.22.2008 07:24 PM

Looks like a blast! Great place to run, too! Wish my dog was as gently with the RC's as yours. Heck, I wish we could let her off the leash....

Gee 10.23.2008 08:29 AM

Yeah pretty lucky with the dogs. They chase it but don't bite it. Amber has tried the sneak attack by jumping out of the brush at them. She has misjudge it a couple time and has ended up in a barrel roll after hitting them. She doesn't do it as often anymore. The track is out behind the house. I've been working on it here and there for the last couple of years. Just expanded to the section at the far right with the wood ramps. Thanks for the comments Jeff.

Incase you didn't catch the earlier post. Here's the video for you Shaun. Turn out to be a pia due to photobucket implementing some copyright filter. They will let you add thier music to the video. But imo thier music sucks.

Throwing in a couple pics of the ESC mount I made out of lexan. Got the idea from how Drift_buggy had his setup. This was the second one first one still didn't give me the clearence. Also, made a battery tray out of lexan. It holding up for now. Wasn't the greatest job. Need to have more patience when heating up lexan up. If it gets too hot to fast it will bubble up. Going to make one from clear lexan next time around.

Gee 11.19.2008 10:10 PM

Thanks Shaun. Part of it is my property. Some of it belongs to the City. I've been squatting on if for some time now. Cleaning it up. Wish I had some before pictures. It was a mess and full of brush and garbage from when they put the road in. I've run out of places to get dirt from. Some strange dirt too. If you pour water on it it beads up like an oil spill. If you spray it with a mist it okay though. Clay maybe. If I dig down any farther I run it to junk and rocks. I need to get some dirt delivered next spring to build up the jumps and add more to Monte Carlo ridge. The name seemed to fit becaue there is a Monte Carlo frame buried under there. It's just left of the two wood ramps. The tires still show a bit and you can feel them squish when you step on them. Had a few people that said they wanted it but never could get them to come and get the damn thing. So started buring it with yard waste and stuff.

Dogs are a blast. They give me hell until I take them and a rc out after work. Spoiled.

I love the way the buggy handles. So different from my other rcs. Seems like it can turn on a dime. I'll have to try and shoot anothe video at night. Got the track surronded with halogens and street lights I've found at thrift stores. People drive by on the road above it and get blinded. Must look like a ball park with all the lights on. blah, blah, blah, just cant stop the fingers from typing tonight. R&R maybe.
