MY BAD the body mounts i listed will not work on yours due to the extra shocks, hmmmm whats gonna happen is the post is gonna break right down at the bottom, you could cut and sand them off and drill a 3mm hole through where the post goes and use some of the removable front traxxas electrics post (slash or rustler) and cut them to the length you want.

Sorry to hear about the mmm. It doesn't sound like you were too suprised it happended. I haven't had the need for anything over 4s yet but whenever I hook up any new esc for the first time the thought it might blow is there. Had my share of different esc going up in smoke. It's always a bummer but especially if there's no backup.
The 5x10 bearings didn't hold up real well for me. Haven't had any problems with the 5x11 since I put them in. I've been looking into using the HPI servo saver that is built into the bell crank on my ls10. I want to get rid of the one that's on the servo and just use a small horn on it. Looks like it should work just need the right drag link or make my own. Your truck looks good. |

Do you know if the 5x11mm bearing (I could use the spares for the CRT.5 I would imagine) are a drop in replacement? Do you have a link to that servo saver? I was looking at things and thinking you might be able to use the CRT.5 (or another brand too) servo saver on the truck and then use the stock drag link to make the spacing right. Quote:
I'll address the body mount issues as they arise. Going to start digging around to see what I can find for servo saver options. I know this build thread isn't going to be the most popular as it's an older model at this point. But, I appreciate everyone's input. |
I'd have to measure things up, but I wonder if the x-ray XB8 line servo saver would work on this buggy:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/8618 I'll take a measure of my XB8EC saver and see if the height and the mounting screws are the same. |
haha youll DEFinetly know when the wheel bearing goes the whole tire will be wobbling all over

Do you guys think the CVDs are a worthwhile investment. I've read through just about every thread on here that talks about the LS10 and GT10 and although there aren't a lot of people who have broken the dogbones there seems to be a lot who say they pop-out - especially the front ones hitting bumps in a sharp turn. I have to say I feel the drive train in the GT10 is VERY smooth. And it does feel as thought the arms are a little better leveraged for the size compared with the crt.5 with the extended chassis and bigger tires. I'm running a 1512 2.5d (2050kv) in my .5 on 5S and although it's overpowered it never feels like the power is going to rip the truck apart. With the 1512 3.5d (1500kv) even on 5S it felt like I could rocket the truck to the moon on take-off if I wanted to. Since I am using the MM with 5S for the time being until my MMM (or another 6S capable ESC) finds itself my way in working condition, I may just go down to the 1509 2y (1820kv) - I don't think it will have any problems pushing the truck around. |
I replaced the rear and front carriers to get 5x11s to fit. One of the rears carriers broke on mine and I didn't have a LS10 one to replace it with. So was digging in a parts bin and found one that looked like it would work. Turn out it fit fine. I don't know how it got in my parts bin it was the only one I could find of it. Turned out it was the rear carrier from a Traxxas Nitro 4-tec. Never owned one of them. So order a couple more of them. Haven't had any breaking issues using them. As far as the front goes I took a gamble and grabbed a set of the front upright for the e-firestorm from the lhs (impulse item) should of seen the dust on that bag. I put them on and they are working out good but had to some mixing of bearing to get it to work right.
It's going to be easier for me to show you a couple of pictures so I wll go take some and do that. Would like your guys input on it anyway. Also the servo saver stuff I will post up and maybe get some help there also. I don't want to steal or junk up your build thread so I will put it in a differnent one. |
the cvds will break just like the dogbones, just stock up on spare dogbones, they WILL break no matter what, i have neve had one pop out actually but i have broken 14 of them and counting, like i did sya before they are lasting ALOT longer with a center diff over the slipper setup.

Nice clean conversion. What are you going to do about the hanging TP pack? Would you run a saddle pack with both packs ontop of each other to set a smaller footprint on the chassis.

@ rootar
same thing happen to me on my RC10T4, large tyre rotating fast just kill bearing. There is a lot of stress on them, I needed to change those bearing 3 times so far |

I had just zip-tied that into place to be able to test drive the truck around the house a bit. I have a custom 40x132mm battery tray on order from Mike that I will be putting in the truck. Just got the click-n-ship notice this morning so hopefully I'll have that by the weekend along with my new servo from a-main. |
I do wanna run 6S in this truck, so I went forward and got one of these:
http://mgm-compro.com/index.php?tid=...-boat-e-series Going to have a 10-12S project coming up sometime next summer, so I wanted to give the MGM another try and see how it performs. |
Got the servo and Mike's custom 40x132mm battery tray in the mail yesterday.
The servo makes a world of difference. The stock one was - well - pretty much what you would expect from a stock analog servo. Mike's new single piece design battery tray fits really nice. Just had to trim a touch off the lower outside edge so it would fit sung with the chassis.
