vendetta above 50km/h is very hard to control
I can get to 50km/h with my Neu 1105/2Y (5250kv) on 2S with 45/13 gearing

To get to 100km/h plus i would use 2S lipo, 45/19 gearing
one of the kamtec buggy bodies with high downforce wing
28-30mm wide foam tires to get as much traction a possible

since mamba8000 is a weak motor for vendetta and you need to use quite high gearing you would need to start rolling quite slowly

mamba8000 motor will burn on 3S doing speed runs

get Neu and Mamba Micro Pro

Dont burn your hand with that motor! Or the Chassis!

I would keep a VERY close eye on the electronics when you are doing speed runs. It will draw a ton of amps and your electronics will run red hot. I'm also worried about your lipo. the mamba motor will probably work for speed runs, but the vendetta is a heavy car. That is the reason most people use 28mm/400 sized motors like the ammo and Neu. Make sure to have adequate cooling. If you are using the 1/10th sidewinder, the esc will probably be ok.

I reccomend a Neu with the 1/10th sidewinder.

I haven't got a Mamba 8000 but a CM-2080, I don't know if there is a difference, but the only thing I can see that mine is expensiver than the mamba 8000..

Where can I find the Kamtec bodys? I only see a Mini-T body on their site..

Anyway, what about a MMM in the Vendetta? Wouldn't work, right?

BL_RV0 11.28.2008 09:24 PM

CM-2080 is a 8000 mamba.

Metallover 11.28.2008 09:34 PM

Mamba monster should work in the detta. You're runtimes will be slower due to the esc fan and just the size. You will need to put monster connecters on your motor or make an adapter.

MMM in a 1/16.... OVERKILL!!!

Why?

I don't want to buy another ESC, I also have a Velineon ESC, but the LiPo cutoff doesnt work for some reason.. And I'm converting a LST to Brushless, so I thought maybe the MMM would be good for the vendetta?

The only problem I can see is the size of that ESC..

kamtec has ebay store just search for kamtec mako

I would use the vxl esc and just stop running when any power is lost.

You could also get an external lipo cutoff. I think Apogee has one called the Loud Obnoxious alarm.

I'm sorry, I didn't say it right.. The LiPo-cutoff doesn't work good even with a external LiPo Cutoff, and the Rustler with the Velineon ESC with a LiPo gives only the first 3-5 seconds full power, then the ESC automatically change to something, and the car is really slow.. ( I have to put the trigger back to neutral and if I give full power again the same happends )
I don't know what it is, but its very strange :whip:

Send the esc back to traxxas with $45.
