Hmm, the torsen ofna diff is billed to have a 5:1 bias ratio. Any reason why it will not help with ballooning? It can't send all the power to the rear, but it can get more that a silicone filled diff will... Should help with braking too.

The xray diff design is not as good as the torsen IMO. I may give one a try as I have a dozen vehicles that I could use it in...

Linc, what are you planning on putting this in first? I would like to see it fit into Mike's hybrid diff case for the revo. It should work seeing as the description says they fit the hot bodies lightning as well as the ofna buggies. The price I see on tower for what you get doesn't look too bad, only 120 per diff.

I would like some more info on the diff. I am guessing that off power it will work as a conventional diff, but on power will effectively lock the outputs.

Looking at the gear design it is basically like a worm gear setup where rotation can only be applied to the worm gear and not the other gear, as the force will be applied in the wrong direction. This allows the output shafts to rotate freely off power when turning, but will lock when power is applied to the diff assy. I was going to use it as a center diff, as I generally like the feel of a locked center drive but find the decreased turning circle of a center diff equiped vehicle desireable as well.

Plus I like cool do-dads, and am planning on buying a true trac for my big block f250 (1:1 project) and do not want to go with a rachet style locking diff (detroit locker for example).

that xray diff does look the same. I thought (whoever) said it was the same as the stock xray diffs.

Ofna torsen won't help with front tyre balooning, as soon as the load is off the front it will be as open as any diff can be, it needs a bit of load to work properly.

Try putting steeper ramps in the tractive diffs.
