That motor is too much in a 1/8 buggy. So I can't see how you are going to get your CRT's full potential. I think you would be better off with a 1509. Maybe run the 3300kv 1509 or the 4500kv one. You will get longer run times too.

One of these days I was going to do a crt .5 or the hyper version with the 1509. I want it to hit about 75-80 mph.

This is exactly for this reason i want his setup, never got hot!
I don't want to do 100m/h, and i don't want to have an incontrolable crt.5, i just want to have cool components and long runtime. And i want to have all available power when i'll need it in a sand pit with 1/10 truck paddle tire on my crt.5:wink:

Phatmonk, what are your average runtime with your setup?? And what are the capacities of your 4s pack??

Thank's

david,
if you are really going for looong run times talk to the guys at tekno RC. they all run low KV Neu motors on 6 cell batts for looong run times, cool temps, and sufficient power. they run like a 1515 or 1512 1300-1700 KV motor with a 6 cell. personally, i dont like the extra weight/size of the 6 cell batt. plus, i am telling you, if you just go with a 4s 5000 mah on a 1512 1.5D you will get 30 mins run, temps below 150 all day, and 65 mph+ speed. you cant go wrong. another good setup i run on my truggy is a Neu 1515 1.5D with a 5s 5000 mah. results are the same. both of these setups will turn your motor at about 50k-53k rpm. the Neus are capable of 60k+ rpm. so you are still being nice to you motor but doing 60-70 mph. have fun dude!!!!

Finally i've got a Turmoil Pro and i'll put my 1512, 1.5d in it, on 4 or 5s, don't know yet.
And for my crt.5 i've decided to put it nitro, with an OS .18TZ:oh:

did you have heat issues with the 1512/1.5d on 4s in your buggy?

nope. never had any heat problems. it has been a couple of weeks since i've run my buggy but if i recall the temps were around 120* and less all around.

Good!! Hey Ryu James, which 4s lipo do you have???
I have Thunder Power since last year and i like this pack, but with the price of the Ziippy-R pack at UnitedHobby, i want to try this pack.

you get what you pay for. instead, buy my losi 4s packs. i have 2 of them that are basically new. they go on ebay today. pm me for prices. competitive with zippy but a much better pack.

120 is amazing after 30min of run time on a track....I'm real glad to hear that because my 1.5d should be here today and I was thinking I made a mistake getting a 3300kv motor for my crt.5 on 3s and 4s geared 14/46
I may just leave my feigao 9l in in my crt.5 and put this 1.5d in my crt 1x

the crt.5 runs very sweet with the 9l....a little squrrily with the short chassis but Mikes new extended chassis should cure that

think the 1.5d would push my x1 without issues on 4s?

it will push it no problems whatsoever. i have used mine in my losi 8t without any troubles but i upgraded to the 1515 1.5d on 5s and that is BADASS!! seems faster than the 1512 on 4s. but regardless, the 1512 will push your x1 easily. you wont be disappointed. and the crt will be sweet too. probably better for the crt. 14/46 should be good for the gearing too. i ran 13/48 in the buggy and 15/48 in the truggy. both stay cool and are fast as hell.
