Nice detective work Ben. Your + sign looks like a windmill, FWIW.

I may be able to solder something onto that, but I will see when you send it to me...

Looks like in the process of acquiring the remainder of the tab you also pretty much destroyed the seal. If isn't done for already, then soldering that close to the seal will probably do it in. I'd recommend ditching that cell.

Well The pack went out today 10/27

If the cell is dead then 2 2s packs would work :D

@ BB16 and nitrodude

I got both lipos in today, and had a good look at them

bb16: your lipo should be fine, so I will solder it back together and see how it does. I can run it in my slayer as a load test, then recharge it. What is the pack spec?

nitrodude: your pack has a puffed cell, so I have removed it. I will say that protek use some very nasty glue and plastic to fill the end of the pack that has all of the connections. It is like hot glue and some sort of expanding foam type glue. I have removed enough of it to get to the contacts. What kind of pack do you want? 2 2s packs or a single 4s?

As a note to everyone else, I am not fond of the protek packs, but will continue to fix them. All other packs have been pretty easy compared to the protek.

One 4s pack would be great. Sorry about the added difficulty of the pack.
Thanks again.

brushlessboy16 10.29.2008 06:51 PM

Ok, I do not have the align style tap for 4s. I can put a hyperion tap on there, and I may have a thunderpower tap, but not sure...
