Some guy told me a few weeks ago about Li-Fe.. He said these cells are like LiPos, but you can charge them really fast, and you can use them 10 times/day..

Did anybody also heard about the Li-Fe cells?

Have anyone else tried those Elite 35C Lipos from cheapbatterypacks ?

thanks for the help
trying to decide between the Neu,or the Zippy's ,which are cheaper but heavier and bigger then the Neu's ...so i don't mind spending the money if in the long run i will be buying a better quality and performance battery....Thanks guys

3s 4900mah fit E-REVO no problem, just remove the spring on top

It's LiFePO4, Li-Fe for short. That's the chemistry of A123 cells. Unfortunately you won't find LiFePo4 in a form factor other than a cylinder for the time being.

Since most of the larger lipo packs out on the market are longer than a standard 6cell NiMH pack I would consider anything intended to run lipos that wont take a 165mm long pack a funky short tray. Anything shorter and you are limited to the 2s hardcased packs and Maxamps basically.

tc3_racer_001 10.25.2008 02:37 AM

life are great. 15 minute recharge times, 15 mins racing. charge straight after running, then run them again! (work the best at higher temps i found)

i got rid of mine as the just WOULDNT FIT! grr. if they were slightly longer and thinner or shorter and the same thickness they would be ideal but for me in a buggy it was too difficult. lower voltage too.... not that that seemed to matter in my setups.

Thanks for all the replies. I bought a couple of 4s 4900s and a couple of the hardcase 2s 5000s. The hardcases are for my 1/10th race cars, but the 4s 4900s are to get my e-8ight running finally. :yipi:

I got two of the Neu Energy 5s 4300 packs and they work great. Tons of punch, great build quality, staying in balance. For the money, I couldn't pass them up. Built much better than th.e zippys. Zippys rock though for the money

rschoi_75 10.26.2008 05:01 AM

I've been using the hardcase lipos since they came out and love them. I've got 30+ cycles on 4 of them and they are all going strong. I thought they were a bargain at $95, but $60 is too good to pass up. I also just bought some 3s 3900mah lipos and they work very well. The only down side is that they were a good 10mm longer than advertised on the spec page. So you may want to double check dimensions with a sales assistant before buying a softcase lipo.

SpEEdyBL 10.26.2008 05:24 PM

Yeah my NeuEnergy 4100 mah pack was about 25 mm longer than advertised. Exactly the same weight, thickness and width though.

25mm? That's a significant difference (1"). Are you sure you read the numbers correctly?

My work pc really does not like Neu's website. It takes at least 15 minutes to load the battery page. Worked instantly at home.

SpEEdyBL 10.27.2008 05:19 PM

100% certain. The site says all the 4100 30c packs are 142 mm long, but my pack was about 167 mm long and I had to trim the polycarbonate sheilding to make it fit in my 162 mm battery holder.

JThiessen 10.27.2008 05:38 PM

I just popped for a pair of 5500 5S XP's to run my 2.5D. Hope I picked the right ones......

Which balance taps do these come with?

rootar 10.27.2008 06:28 PM

haha you could prolly get an hour of runtime out of 11000mah out of those packs JT......

i was thinking about getting one of those very ones just to run in the long mains and i can run my 5s 4000 proteks in practice and qualifiers. soon as you get them would you mind sending the the exact measurements of what the packs actaully are???
