Its just harder to get the weight distribution right on and E-Maxx with one pack. I tubbed the back of my 3906 chassis to run a single pack, but I don't believe you can do that with the 3905 unless you get really creative.

When I spoke with CC about it, they saying have two packs in parallel will put less of a load on each pack which will result in better performance and reliability.

Unless the lipos to be ran in parallel are lower spec items (in terms of mah or C rating), then a single high spec lipo is fine (or a pair in series to get the desired voltage).

I favour the parallel setup for extended runtimes, using a a pair of good spec lipos or A123 packs; weight is not a concideration for me, only nuttiness.

With a motor on one side of the truck, a single larger lipo on the other makes sense, but balancing the weight is more important/tricky perhaps...

Hey do you guys know if there is a conversion to convert the dual steering to a single steering servo on the EMaxx?

JThiessen 11.13.2008 09:40 AM

Technically you dont need anything to convert it to single. Just remove the second servo. You can trim back the steering arm if you like. You should also purchase a high torque servo though - something over 300 oz-in.

Yeah, its a piece of cake to use a single servo on the 3905- just remove the second servo and long connecting push rod- that will leave you with something akin to the UE or Proline steering setup. You can also use 3906 spec parts from NewEra or GPM etc.

Cool! I will look into this later this afternoon when I get home. I got two spare Hitec HS-645MG which is 130oz each combining for 260oz, which I think may not be enough. I also have two spare Hitec HS-5995TG with 330oz each for a combined total of 660oz which I think may be an overkill! Im left with a delimma, so I figure the best is to use a single HS-5995TG.

Crap! So I get my EMaxx up and running and I took it out the street. Ran it up and down once and my front driveshaft snapped!
