It sees 4 cells and no smoke from the balancer! Thank you skellyo, that diagram and haviong the shrink and wraps off the battery made all the difference, The next one will be easy, and I'm kicking my self for not getting that, it is very simple...

Happy to feel useless

Don't feel useless Arct1k, I know how to remove the pins from the tap, that's mechanical, I'm good at mechanical. I was moving the pins around last night, when I almost destroyed my chargers buil tin balancer. Your input is appreciated however.
Electrical always puts me on edge the first time I try something new to me. I had never had to do anything to a lipo other than solder a battery connector on before  Now that I've had one apart I feel alot more comfortable working with them now. |
I was teasing...

now that youve done it once you can change any new lipos you get to the same style tap, i changed the taps on 5 of my lipos to align/TP makes it alot easier not having to have 3 different tab boards for the balancer. I found quite a few on the little prongs in the plugs will fit right into another style tap with out having to do anyhting other than take them on and put them in the next one. if they dont cross i just cut a little piece of the lead with thr correct prong and double hook solder the wires to the packs wires.
btw my SB989 went NUTZ when i plugged a backwards tap into my balancer and tried to charge it, balancer acted normal but when i started the charge it wouldnt let me and was beeping and blinking and flashing, scared the piss out of me lol |
