Thank you Jordan. Yea those are the aluminum wheels I picked up a while back thinking that I was going to use them, but now I have the Axial beadlocks to torture. The deepdish aluminum wheels will be strictly for show now. I really like the lightning as well. I just put the double monoblock on last night and I hope to turn it into the highspeed project. Glad you like.

Double mono? wow, so im guessing your just going to fab up some plates to join them together. Can't wait to see how that turns out, is that hi-speed machine going to be with the Bigmaxx?

No plates needed. I had to a little bit of grinding to get two of them to fit together, but then it bolts right up to the truck. I am actually thinking about getting one of their "Bollito" motors for that. I have to do some more research before making a final decision. I will probably pick up one of Lutach's high voltage controllers for it as well. Yea this one is going to be fun.:lol:

Sorry, i read that but totally forgot, one of those Bolido's would be absolute bada$$, i say go for it :intello:

I do have one big Maximum on hand, but if I am going to spend some serious bling to get this thing moving on down the road, then I want to get the best motor I can find for the money that would fit on the SuperMaxx. From what I remember the Bolido is a monster of a motor and kicks some serious behind. I have a center diff to put in her, and I know I will have to do some creative mounting for the motor but I will do it. The only thing about me is that I am in no real hurry. I have to pace myself $$$$ wise and collect exactly what I need for it. Plus I am working on 4 projects at one time. AND now I will have to help the boys build their trucks also. Life is good.:lol:

Thank you Shaun (SIR) for looking at my toys, and for the nice comments. No videos yet. I just learned how to post up the photos this week. I have cameras that can take video, but the wife has the easiest one to operate with her right now in San Francisco. Yea I saw the hanging R/C vehicles in an earlier post on this thread and stole the idea for my own shop. I to love the space saving, and the way it looks. When people come over to check out the shop it really catches their attention.

I received a whole bunch of stuff this week, but I am still waiting on a few more items in order to complete two of the trucks and get them ready for testing. I have some HPI hardened diff gears comming, and some custom drive shafts coming from RC Alloys. I also have a center diff setup (bought on here) to play with and I just got a few different metal spur gears in for that(44T, 46T, 50T, 60T, and 65T). That gives me a lot of range to play with during testing. I already have a ton of different pinion gears on hand.

I have all kinds of neat stuff to play with, but I still have not learned how to charge batteries with my 989 Superbrain, nor have I begun to learn how the DX3-R works. I have two Spektrum receivers to use with it, so once I figure out how to get them going I will get some videos up for posting. I also have several ESC's to use, but have not a clue on how to set them up. So I have a lot of research and studying to do before I can run any of them.

I received another set of Axial beadlocks this week and mounted a set of 40 series Roadrage II tires on them. I made sure to tape and balance the wheels so no problems there. I am just not as fast at doing these projects as you are Shaun. I have three kids to deal with, and my evenings belong to the wife. Plus there are just some days when I do not feel like messing with R/C's at all. It has been a long hard road(3 years) making R/C toy purchases for this, but bashing time is growing near. I have learned about as much engineering wise about these trucks as I can, and now I have to get through all of the electronics before I am ready to play in the dirt. One of them is going to be my high speed pavement project, but I have no idea how fast I may get it up to. I doubt anything like the fastest R/C contest, but who knows??

Don't worry too much about figuring out the DX3R, i was a bit hesitent going into it with all the menu's and settings etc. But they're all layed out really cleanly, its easy to use the scrolling, knob thing, and it has really sensitive adjustability, so you'll be able to get whatever setting you want out of it with relative ease.

Good luck with the final steps of your projects!! (these usually turn out to be the hardest, but the most rewarding at the same time :diablo: :lol:)

Jerry, I keep wanting to tell you the bolido is waaay too big for a maxx sized truck, yet I really want to see it done. You could get equal power for less money, but the bolido shares the same cool machining the big maxx does, but bigger! I'll be watching..........

Hey there Harold nice seeing you up and about on here, and thanks for your advice. I know it is a BIG motor, but this will be no normal Maxx either for sure. Plus I have enjoyed doing a lot of research on all of this, and one thing that just jumps out at me is how cool it is when you have the biggest, baddest, meanest machine on the planet. There are plenty of Maxx R/C trucks out there, and we have seen just about everything imaginable done to these things. The only thing that will catch our eye anymore is something that is a little bit different and even a bit odd or overboard. Look at Shauns battle truck for instance. It is crazy, but what a cool project. I may need some kind of custom made motor mount for it, but even that is doable.

I have an extended UE Lightning chassis with TWO monoblocks installed, and widetrack suspension. I just setup the Axial beadlocks balanced with street tires, Plus every drivetrain part will be made of some kind of steel alloy or titanium for strength. I may run into some troubles along the way and you may be right about the Bolido just being too much for the Maxx tuck, but if I can get this thing to hook up the right way I should be able to get some serious speeds out of it and maybe even surprize myself with it. So it is do or die for my high speed SuperMaxx project. If it dies I will turn it into something a little bit more subtle or spread the parts out into some of my other trucks. No loss no gain.

Actually I wish that I was close enough to be able to share this project up close and personal with some of you guys on here, so I can lean on the expertice that is here on RCM. Trying to get these projects perfect would be a lot easier if all of the info was not just on line, if you know what I mean. I have not been a part of any kind of group hobby thing since I was in my teens, and that was a few years ago:rofl::rofl::lol:. I do appreciate your concerns Harold, and I do know the cost of failure:eyes:. At the very worst if it is too much motor for me I can sell it second hand through this site. I am sure that someone will take it off of my hands for a reduced price. So whats the harm in trying???

You've got a great attitude Jerry. I'm in the states, but still really don't have anyone to share this hobby with, atleast not at the RCM level. The only hobby shop in my area didn't know what a feigao was until I showed them one. I'm glad this forum exists, so us like minded individuals can share our interests. I'm hoping to get one of plettenbergs one-off chassis' and building a speed maxx myself. I can't wait to see what comes of all this. -Harold

Every time I see your posts on here I cannot help but think of the position that you are in, and I am truly grateful for where I am in life, and the blessings that I have. I admire your fortitude and your spirit towards life. You are always helpful and positive to anyone and everyone (except lincpimp of course) and we are all fortunate to have such friendship considering your setbacks in life. So thank you for your support young man. And what is this about a Plettenberg Maxx chassis??? Does Plettenberg make a chassis for the Maxx truck line? or have I misunderstood your meaning??
