I would go down to a 2s lipo if you're not using all of your 3s power. The ESC and motor will run cooler and it'll be easier to control.

I vote for the vxl motor. They work extremely well with the MM from my experience.

6900kv + 3s lipo in a rusty and people wonder why the esc runs hot without a fan?, well duh...
