I just got an 0610 and it is SWEET. I would definatly try to save up a couple of extra bucks so you can get the 0610. Just make sure you get a PS that can put out atleast 200W, as right now Im stuck with 100 watts which isnt all that bad, but it is definatly limiting how many amps I can charge 5/6s batteries.
what power supply will give 200w?? will the 16a 14v one linked in this thread do the job?? thanks, sry 4 jacking
Any of the charge/balance hobbycity chargers are good.
so i can use my 50w, 5amp turnigy accucel-6 to charge my 6s lipo at 5amps??? Power supply gives 16amps and 14volts
16amp X 14V= 224 watts. thats plenty of power.
You want to remember to factor in 80% efficiency, so it won't quite be 224 watts...
Yeah, most chargers don't have the efficiency we brushless motors do. We're so sophisticated. :mdr:
...my lipos put out 420watts (100a 25.2v) im just really hoping thatll work so idont have to spend a lot. Thanks
haha...I dont know where your getting 420 watts. but your lipo should put out 2,520 watts if those figures were true. because of voltage drop you may get 2000watts out of them, but that doesnt matter anyways. its all about how many amps you put into them when charging.
Say you were to charge them at 5 amps. your going to need a total of 111 watts. battery VoltsX charge rate(in amps) = watts needed. as stated earlier you need to factor in the chargers 80%(rough figure) efficiency, so 111/.8 = 139 watts. |
...yay, so i need 112+watts now?? cool, i got an answer!! well, thats 120dollars for the charger and supply... i hope LOL, thanks guys
I would recomend getting atleast 150watts. that will give you some good head room
im getting the turnigy accucel-8.
