If they hold up than I'll be laughing. Thanks again.

Nice work on the Lipos Mistercrash.

Please let us know how they work out for you. I've been looking at those myself.

Thanks and will do but I still have to wait for that BL ERevo to be released to try them out. Unless I hook them up to 40 automotive 1157 tail lights and see how it goes  It would sure be bright in the garage.

I saw those lipos. If they perform, I might just have to get my hands on a pair.

Can you tell me what style balance taps those are, please?

Hey Sike...

I have been pondering the erevo lipo issue myself.

My current motor esc combo is a 1515 1.5d with a MMM. I run 4s lipo. Currently using trakpower packs, they are 2s 4900 25c packs, and I run 2 in series.

Now I do have some flightpower 3700 4s 25c lipos. They just fit the compartment if you take the leaf spring out. So I now have (with those 4s packs in parrellel) 7400 mah, 185 amps cont. But it is a bit heavy...

The trakpower packs were getting a bit warm, I think the 1.5d and my gearing, 19/50 mod 1, were pulling more than those batts could provide.

I think a pair of enerland 6000 2s 25c lipos would be the hot ticket for a low weight 4s setup.

For 6s I would run a pair of enerland 4500 3s 30c packs. I have not tried to fit them yet, but can try tomorrow. My other erevo will run a hacker c50 11xl, and I plan to run 6s with that motor.

Not sure what to do for 5s... Maybe a 2s and 3s packs split between the compartments. Probably best to stick with 6s...

The mistercrash lipo has align balnce taps on it. Most chinese lipos use align taps.

You really want to get a wattmeter when you get that setup going. I didnt buy those, but I did try 3 different brands of lipos from ebay and posted my results on a different website. They were the 10C 4000mah cells and they were very dissapointing. I puffed one out right away on a 5S setup with the stock titans and I wasnt even able to get up to full speed more than a couple of times. I was told by a lot of the vendors that I bought them from that they were for airplanes and not RC trucks that have the high current spikes.
The other 4000mah 10C packs I ordered were 3s and as soon as they got over 20Amps continiuos the voltage would drop under 10 volts. They would not even work on a vxl bandit without tripping lvc in the first 10 seconds. I recorded lots of voltages in the 8-10v range over 20A and never got to 40A which would have been 10C.

You should gear this thing way down when you get it or you could just puff them both. The dimensions are very small on those lipos for their capacity to really put out any meaningful current.

I am now the pround owner of many doorstoppers as a result of my trying to save money. I hope it works out better for you than it did for me.

I have 4 of them and had a set of the poly-rc 6000 25c. They are ok but not great. They will take a good beating but dont hold voltage very well under normal loads. The true rc 8k 10c have more punch and a higher top speed than ANY of my 6ks. Only difference is the 6ks dont get as hot. I am getting more punch and 1.8mph more top speed with the 8k 10c than my 6k 25c.

They are all charged with a fma cellpro 10s at 1c and the lvc is set to 12.6volts for 4s. They have never been abused.

I heard back from rk2 trading co. This means the place that sells the lipos probably has at least decent customer service.

Dear Riley ,

Hello, this is Ben from RK2 Trade Online RC Store. the 1a is only for recommend to achieve a longer charing life cycle .In fact , for example a 4000mAh lipo, it can be charged at 5A but which will shorten the charing life cycle. On the other hand, for the RC Lab batteries we can assure that they can perform 100% as the description otherwise we are willing to refund or return.

Best Regards,
Ben
RK2 Trade.
I want to know how these turn out from the people that got them...

Hmm, interesting info. I guess they are a bit overrated. I have 4 trakpower packs, which have the 4900 25c cells in them, and they easily outperform the maxmaps 5000, 6000, and 8000 packs. Not saving much, but the enerland 3700 25c 5s pack I have would outperform a maxamps 5000 5s pack. I have a pair of 6000 2s packs coming from a guy on another forum, so when they get here I will have to try them out. My revo with the 1515 1.5 with MMM can pull a fair amount of juice, a pair of trakpower packs in series for 4s can barely keep up, and come out of the compartments rather warm... Maybe the 6000 packs will do better. I also have a pair of 3700 4s flightpower packs that I can use in parallel for 7200 4s, but they are a bit heavy for the revo. I will test them all and see what is best...

I have heard many good things about true rc cells, and have a selection of mismatched used cells that I have built into packs over the years. They are generally used in my crawlers, but always work well. Seem like a great deal for the price! They better maxamps performance for 1/2 the cost or less...

E-fanatic 01.05.2009 08:43 PM

Now my poly-rc 3700 out performed my maxamps 6000s. I also had great power out of the poly-rc 4350. Its just the 6000s poly-rc and enerlands that I am having crapo power out of. I am not happy about it at all. I payed the 130 each for them b/c I thought they were the best, But seem to be one of the worst.

I also have a flight power 5s 3200 30c that performs great! Its even been in a plane crash and still keeps getting it.

I am debating on getting the spc 5200 24c or there 8000 12c???????????? I just cant make up my mind. I just want something that gives GREAT power and will last a while.

My poly-rc 6000s swelled and died at 45 runs, My enerland 6000s are now nearing that time and seem to be losing more power. This is unexceptable for a $130 battery.

Edit: my cuttoff is set toi 12.6 volts and my start power is at low and geared for about 38mph. I just dont kno what else to do to be easer on the batteries.

I log all my charges and charge them at 1c with a fma cellpro 10s

mistercrash 03.13.2009 07:48 PM

here's an update on the cheapos (cheap ebay lipos) One of them puffed while charging on my cellpro 10s charger. Maybe I shouldn't have charged them at 3c but hey, the 10s is supposed to be able to do that safely so I tried it. It's not puffed by much but it is puffed. I haven't opened the shrink wrap but it looks like there's more than one cell that have puffed. The other one will go to power a hand held vac. Live and learn. So now I'll start shopping for 4s lipos to replace them, I won't go cheap this time

It's a bit hard to see from this pic. The left one if puffed.

Sikestorm, I'd like to ask how you got the numbers for the battery compartment measurements? I thinking of upgrading my e-revo to bl and will definetly need lipos so I wanted to see the max size that I could fit in there, and the height of the compartment isnt 30mm its actually 26.98 w\o the spring, the other measurements are still pretty close.

Have a look here, there is a pic about 1/3 the way down.

Ok, I guess he just copied Suicideneils pic, but I was just making a clarification since, like I said the previous post that the compartment is basicly 27mm instead of 30, unless the compartments have a little give to allow upto 30mm packs, otherwise I'd be kinda a pain if someone wanted to go lipo on a erevo and bought some packs that where bigger then the compartment, and didn't quiet feel like having to mod the compartments or go with a aftermarket chassis to fit the bigger packs in.
