Did the LVC get plugged in series with the cable from the ESC to receiver? If not, I can't imagine how they could get such a small device to pass as much current as the RC18 requires.

To be honest, those were the first lipos I ever owned and it was a few years ago, before I knew much about lipos. I remember that it was within the battery shrinkwrap, but I don't remember much else about them. I'm not sure how they worked, but I remember they were advertised as having a built in voltage cut-off.

My Zippy-H packs didn't have the PCB in it.

no the lvc is in the sidewinder esc, sounds like the pcb was just for ease of assembly, if it gets in the way i will take it out but for now it seems fine thanks guys for your help. i will post a pic of the finished car in a couple days

It won't be so easy to remove the PCB. And if you did attempt it, you're risking damaging the seals on the cells due to heat in the cell tabs. You would be much better off just leaving it there.
